CTAN has a new package: makecirc

A new package has been installed on tug.ctan.org. It should make its way through the mirroring process to a site near you in a day or two. License type: lppl Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- MakeCirc is a METAPOST library that contains diverse symbols (the mayority of wich are electrician) for the use in circuit diagrams. MakeCirc tries to offer a high quality tool, with a simple syntax. MakeCirc is completely integrated with LaTeX documents and with other METAPOST drawings/graphics. Its output is a PostScript file. A package has been upgraded on tug.ctan.org and it should make its way to your favorite local mirror in the next day or two. Navigation bars are suppressed. - - Clicking on the current frame icon will advance to last lide of the frame. - - Added nicer icons for the bibliography. These are now vector graphics that work nicely together with a background shading and can be zoomed arbitrarily. - - Fixed bug in overwritten document. - - Added appendix command. - - Fixed bug when using color options like red. - - Added theme beamerthemesplitcondensed, adapted from a submission by Paul Gomme - - Added command insertframenumber - - Added several new themes - - Fixed behaviour of split theme: optional arguments of section and subsection are now shown in navigation bars. - - Added side bar management.

The package is released under the LPPL. I'd suggest to store tarball's contents in macros/latex/contrib/ Here's an extract from the README file: The guit.sty package provides some commands useful to correctly write the logo of Gruppo Utilizzatori Italiani di TeX (Italian TeX User Group), using the default document color or any other color the user may ever choose, in conformity with logo's scheme as seen on the Group site (http://www.guit.sssup.it). Likewise, commands are available that simplify the writing of GuIT acronym's complete expansion and of the correct address of Group's internet site. Optionally, using hyperref, the outputs of the above cited commands can become hyperlinks to Group's site (http://www.guit.sssup.it). MimeTeX parses LaTeX math expressions, and emits either mime xbitmaps or gif images of them, rather than the usual TeX dvi's. MimeTeX images are therefore easily imported directly into html documents with the <tag>, e.g., <img src=../cgi-bin/mimetex.cgi?f(x)=int_{-infty}^x~e^{-t^2}dt border=0 align=absmiddle> without intermediate dvi-to-gif conversion, and without storing lots of little gif files, one file for each converted expression. MimeTeX is primarily intended to help you maintain native html documents containing math. In this sense it's a kind of lightweight alternative to MathML, with the advantage that mimeTeX preserves LaTeX syntax. Similar non-MathML packages, like textogif and gladTeX, require setup procedures that use TeX to help generate external gif images of your equations, which are later included in your html document as it's being rendered. MimeTeX is, as far as I know, the only such non-MathML package that has its own built-in parser and rendering engine, entirely independent of TeX, and therefore requires no setup procedure or external images whatsoever. It contains a document class for producing books for the publisher Teubner Verlag, Wiesbaden, Germany. Form the README: I have programmed the bgteubner.cls document class by order of the Teubner Verlag, Wiesbaden, Germany. This has been done to ensure that books of this publisher have a unique layout. The publisher has allowed me to distribute the document class with auxilliary files and documentation freely. Unfortunately, most of the documentation is only available in German. Since the document class is intended to generate a unique layout, many things (layout etc.) are fixed and cannot be altered by the used. If you want to use the document class for another purpose than publishing with the Teubner Verlag, this may arrise unwanted restrictions (For instance, the document class provides only two paper sizes: DIN A-5 and 17cm x 24cm; only two font families are supported: Times and European Computer Modern). The document class needs some additional packages, partly relatively new ones, partly packages that are not installed on most TeX installations.
