CTAN update -- lettrine

It should replace the old version in 'macros/latex/contrib/supported/lettrine'. The license is unchanged (LPPL). Please, unpack this archive to the CTAN directory fonts/eulervm/ Doing so will replace the files readme and eulervm.dtx. This is release 2.8 of the LaTeX package eulervm.sty, supporting the use of the Euler math fonts with LaTeX. Apart from a minor code cleanup, the package has been modified so that it works not only with roman, but also with sans serif text fonts now. The .vf. and .tfm files of the Euler-VM fonts are unchanged. ----- Forwarded message from Walter Schmidt ----- I have uploaded the file ly1-min.zip to the /incoming directory at ftp://dante.ctan.org. Please, move this archive -- without unpacking it -- to the directory macros/latex/contrib/supported/psnfssx/ly1/, thus replacing the existing file. This archive includes a minimum set of support files for using the LY1 encoding with LaTeX. The present submission fixes only the file texnansi.enc, which had a wrong glyph name for the Euro symbol. It changes the behavior of the comma in math mode, so that the comma can be used both as a punctuation character and as a decimal separator. As compared with the previous release, the package has been fixed to avoid some potential problems. Itemized and enumerated lists can be typesetted within paragraphs, as paragraphs and in a compact version. Most environments have optional arguments to format the labels. Additionally, the LaTeX environments |itemize| and |enumerate| can be extended to use a similar optional argument. I would recommend installing it in the following way: Put the packed archive preview-latex-0.6.1.tar.gz under support/preview-latex/ and unpack the README from it to support/preview-latex/README Create a symbolic link from support/preview-latex/preview-latex.tar.gz to preview-latex-0.6.1.tar.gz so that people can always get the newest version under this name. Unpack preview-0.6.1.tar.gz in the directory macros/latex/contrib/supported/preview/ It contains just README-preview, preview.dtx and preview.ins. The reason is that the preview.dtx file can also be used as a standalone LaTeX style for extracting selected elements from a LaTeX source into separate pages of a DVI file. Previous versions of preview-latex can be deleted. Here are the release notes: Release notes for version 0.6.1 of the preview-latex package: preview-latex is a system for displaying inline images of selected parts of a file in Emacs source buffers. It is released under the GNU Public License (GPL). At the current point of time, GNU Emacs-21.1, AUC TeX, a working LaTeX installation and GhostScript are required. XEmacs support is again being worked on. If you are planning on contributing, please contact the developers' list. Due to missing image support of Emacs-21.1 under Microsoft Windows, this platform is not usable at the current point of time. Release focus have been user interface improvements and documentation. The TeXinfo documentation now also contains instructions for the used LaTeX style, and users of Emacs' desktop package will have previews survive into their next Emacs session. The LaTeX style now has an option for making TeX bounding boxes known to Dvips in case it gets them wrong (frequent with packages like PStricks). Due to a defective backport of security handling, GNU GhostScript-6.53 failed to work with version 0.6. We now don't use the incomplete functionality. User feedback about errors and suggested feature improvements is welcome and heeded. The RPMs require a few packages: * GhostScript 6.51 is included in RH 7.2, but if you use an earlier release it can be downloaded from the RH7.2 updates, <URL:ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/updates/7.2/en/os/i386/> * Finally, Emacs-21.1 can be downloaded from rawhide, <URL:ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/rawhide/i386/RedHat/RPMS/>.
