Thanks for the update. I installed the files in psnfss9.zip in
macros/latex/required/psnfss
and added lw35nfss.zip and freenfss.zip to this directory.
This is version 9 of the PSNFSS system, supporting the use of the Base35 PostScript fonts and the free Charter, Utopia and Pazo fonts with LaTeX. PSNFSS 9 is to be used with the latest version 1.003 of the Pazo fonts, which were also updated now.
Main news
The TeXBase1 encoding (file 8r.enc) includes the Euro symbol in slot 128 now. Thus, future fonts that provide the Euro, can be supported. This does, however, _not_ affect the present Base35, Charter and Utopia fonts. The corresponding file 8r.etx in the fontinst distribution will soon be updated accordingly.
Pazo fonts: Added all the missing uppercase latin letters and numeral 1 to Pazo Math Blackboard Bold. Re-designed Phi, varsigma, xi and zeta. Font metrics and virtual fonts (freenfss.zip) updated accordingly
Palatino text fonts: The textcompanion fonts of the Palatino family provide the Euro symbol exteuro as well as the Omega extohm now. The letters are actually taken from the Pazo fonts.
mathptmx.sty: Improved hbar. Added missing redefinitions of defaultscriptratio and defaultscriptscriptratio.
Documentation updated and slightly improved. All fonts are embedded in psnfss2e.pdf now.
There are no changes over the pre-release as of 2002-04-24, except for a minor fix to the Pazo blackboard bold fonts, whose metrics are, however, unchaged.
