i've just pushed a snapshot of the current state of the faq onto ctan (help/uk-tex-faq) and the web (http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq).

apart from installation and usage instructions for those hardy souls who would like to install the new latin modern fonts, there aren't many substantial changes -- a few new questions synthesised and answered, a few corrections and extensions of existing answers.

the static html copy of the faq is now a regular fixture of the ctan distribution (help/uk-tex-faq/FAQ-html.tar.gz), and i have therefore removed the startlingly awful perl scripts that are used to produce html.
