From the README: The ledmac package is for typesetting critical editions. It is a LaTeX port and extension of the plain TeX EDMAC, TABMAC and EDSTANZA macros.

Changes in v0.4 (2004/02/29) o Added draft/final options o All footnotes can be used in minipages o New minipage-like environments that can include page breaks and put footnotes at the end of the environment, even if this is in the middle of the page.
