This is version 1.0 of the LaTeX macro package gensymb. It provides generic commands degree, celsius, perthousand, micro and ohm, which work in both text and math mode. The license is LPPL.

As compared with the previous version 0.99, the error handling has been improved and a potential clash with the next LaTeX release is avoided. The user interface and the output are unchanged.
