Summary description: Embed animated GIF files in PDF documents, decoded in pure Lua
Announcement text: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- animategif embeds animated GIF files in PDF documents: \animategif{movie.gif}. It decodes the GIF in pure Lua (in-process with LuaLaTeX, via texlua and shell escape with pdfLaTeX and XeLaTeX), so no external programs are needed, and hands the frames to the animate package with a timeline that follows the GIF's own delays, disposal, transparency and loop count. Frames are stored as compact PNG deltas and cached; options select frame ranges, speed, number of plays, downsampling, or a still frame (automatic in beamer handouts). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
