i've just (belatedly) installed a revised version of rotating, which uses colour boxes where appropriate. (this bug was reported last year, but i thought i needed to do other work on the package and delayed installation. i have now given up on the other stuff.)

i have updated the catalogue repository, a bit (though the changes won't appear on the web until some time tonight).
