On Thu, 27 Jan 2005, Walter Schmidt submitted an updated version of the file

8r.enc

containing a PostScript encoding vector for the TeX Base 1 encoding.

Announcement: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The update affects the comment (file header) only: The version number has been changed from 2.0pre to 2.0.

Rationale:

Initially, this version of 8r.enc was meant to be a _preliminary_ release only. However, no further changes turned out to be necessary ever, so I always forgot to remove the pre from the version string. This sloppiness of mine may have contributed to some recent confusion regarding the correct version of the file.

Note that the date string in the file header is unchanged, i.e, 30 October 2002, because it should stay in sync with the change log of the corresponding encoding file 8r.etx in the Fontinst distribution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
