This is the initial (beta 1) release of fontspec version 2 for TeX Live 2010.

Testing and feedback most appreciated!

It now supports OpenType font loading in LuaTeX thanks to the work of Khaled Hosny, Elie Roux, and Manuel Pégourié-Gonnard. Please discuss bugs or improvements on the lualatex-dev mailing list. In between main releases on CTAN, updates for bug testing can be obtained from http://github.com/wspr/fontspec/.

The documentation still needs improvement but the basic functionality should be working. It is intended to be tested on TeX Live 2010; it should still be compatible with earlier versions of XeTeX, however.

Please remove fontspec from its current location on CTAN (macros/xetex/latex/fontspec). I can't think of a better alternative than placing it now in the standard latex/ directory macros/latex/contrib/fontspec since it has functionality for both XeTeX and LuaTeX.

i've installed, as requested, and created a link from the old location, until such time as i think to remove it again. i've also updated the catalogue repository.
