minted 2.0 retains compatibility with 1.7 while adding many new features. There is a new inline command mintinline. Performance is greatly improved by caching highlighted output. Automatic line breaks are supported. Document-wide and language-wide options may be set via setminted. New option escapeinside allows escaping to LaTeX within code. The mint command now alternately takes arguments delimited by curly braces. Other new options are detailed in the documentation under Transitioning to version 2.
