I just uploaded the zip file elsart-bst.zip. It contains four bst files, to be published in bibliography/bibtex/contrib/elsevier/. These four files replace the two bst files currently in that directory. Two files are updates to the current files, two other files are variants to the numeric style, one sorting alphabetically, the other generating name,year labels in addition.
