The missing box could have led to clipped-off glyphs in some viewers, even though that had not been observed experimentally so far.

All in all, this would only seem feasible with quite significant drawbacks, most notably without visual defects only when used in LuaLaTeX with several tweaks in *.sty and *.lua, but not when using the fonts in other places like MathML or Typst. See the section "OpenType Math Fonts?" for more details.
