Macros meant to avoid using too many expandafter. Should hopefully be compatible with plain, LaTeX and ConTeXt, but requires eTeX's umexpr.

This was written before I had understood LaTeX3's variant mechanism, and I advise people who fight with expansion to use LaTeX3 rather than multiexpand.
