Summary description: Lua implementation of Calendrical Calculations by Dershowitz & Reingold
Announcement text: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The high-level API has been rewritten, and code written for 0.1 needs updating: dates are made with date(fields, "gregorian") and converted with d:to("hebrew"); calendars are given by name or as objects from calendar(...), replacing the cal_* constants, new_calendar and as_date. Calendars you define yourself are no longer registered under a name, so they cannot clash with others. Sunrise, sunset, moonrise and moonset now return a date with the time of day attached.
New calendars: hebrew-civil (CLDR month numbers), islamic-diyanet, and a new module of modern civil calendars: Indian National, ROC (Minguo), Thai solar, revised Bengali, Nanakshahi, Amazigh and Japanese era.
Fixes: Hindu lunar dates converted back to a fixed date, the astronomical Hindu calendars (book errata), Umm al-Qura dates, islamic-turkish now follows Diyanet's rule, and location's time zone is taken in hours. islamic-umalqura-astronomical has been removed (it was identical to islamic-saudi). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
