tug.ctan.org downtime

The tug.ctan.org machine will go down this Thursday, Apr 17, at perhaps 3:00 pm local (US Eastern) and remain down for some time. This machine runs the http://www.ctan.org web interface, and is also known as ctan.tug.org. The reason for the downtime is that our entire campus will lose power for at least two days and the Easter weekend was judged a good time to do this. I may be able to get in on Sat morning and bring the machine back up but I need to leave town that day and if power is not back by then, the machine may not reappear until Tuesday morning. I apologize for the inconvienence. The other two ctan nodes will be up at ftp.tex.ac.uk and ftp.dante.de. Jim Hefferon ftpmaint(a)tug.ctan.org

CTAN submission -- babelbib package

Name of contribution: cm-lgc Author's name: Alexej Kryukov Location on CTAN: fonts/ps-type1/cm-lgc Summary description: Set of Latin, Greek and Cyrillic fonts converted from the METAFONT sources License type: gpl Announcement text given by the contribution's author: - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The CM-LGC package contains Type 1 fonts converted from METAFONT sources of the Computer Modern font families. The following encodings are supported: T1, T2A (Cyrillic), LGR (Greek) and TS1. However, pfb files itself are in standard (non-TeX) encodings, so that they are suitable for any WYSIWYG application. The Greek fonts (based on the CB Greek package) provides type 1 versions for Greek Computer Modern family. Changes in the structure of CTAN

The CTAN team are working to improve searching and browsing of CTAN. The first visible steps will include a large number of directory moves. Over the next few days, the directories macros/latex/contrib/(other|supported) are going to disappear, and their contents will move to macros/latex/contrib We believe this will increase clarity, since there has in practice been no discernible difference between the two sub-trees apart from content. The moves have already started; contrib/other/misc and contrib/supported/misc have been merged and moved to contrib/misc. Whenever new packages are submitted from now on, they will go direct into subdirectories of contrib/ (two such have appeared so far). Robin Fairbairns For the CTAN team
