A new package has been installed at tug.ctan.org and should make its way to your favorite local mirror in the next day or two. In particular, the multiple calls of the latex command necessary in order to create a table of contents, a bibliography or an index are carried out automatically. Are also managed the calls of the programs bibtex and makeindex as well as the vizualisation of the resulting file (in DVI, PostScript or PDF format) by calling an external program. It is possible to stress characters in documents which use the input and include commands to make references to some external files, and that in a transparent way by compiling only the main source file. new version (3.8) of uk tex faq on ctan and the web

i've just pushed a snapshot of the current state of the faq onto ctan (help/uk-tex-faq) and the web (http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq). apart from installation and usage instructions for those hardy souls who would like to install the new latin modern fonts, there aren't many substantial changes -- a few new questions synthesised and answered, a few corrections and extensions of existing answers. the static html copy of the faq is now a regular fixture of the ctan distribution (help/uk-tex-faq/FAQ-html.tar.gz), and i have therefore removed the startlingly awful perl scripts that are used to produce html. errors detected, comments, suggestions, to faq(a)tex.ac.uk, please Robin Fairbairns UK TeX FAQ maintainer
