Nicola Talbot submitted the
texosquery
package.
Version: 1.0 2016-07-08
License: lppl1.3
Summary description: Cross-platform Java application to query OS information
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The application can query the following:
- locale and codeset
- current working directory
- user home directory
- temporary directory
- OS name, arch and version
- Current date and time in PDF format
(for TeX formats that don't provide pdfcreationdate)
- Date-time stamp of a file in PDF format
(for TeX formats that don't provide pdffilemoddate)
- Size of a file in bytes
(for TeX formats that don't provide pdffilesize)
- Contents of a directory (captured as a list)
- Directory contents filtered by regular expression
(captured as a list)
- URI of a file
- Canonical path of a file
All paths use a forward slash as directory divider so results
can be used, for example, in commands like includegraphics.
There are files provided for easy access in TeX documents:
- texosquery.tex : generic TeX code
- texosquery.sty : LaTeX package
This provides commands to run texosquery using TeX's shell
escape mechanism and capture the result in a control sequence.
The category code of most of TeX's default special characters
(and some other potentially problematic characters) is
temporarily changed to 12 while reading the result.

Jürgen Spitzmüller submitted an update to the
covington
package.
Version number: 1.1 2016-07-06
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: Linguistic support
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
* Version 1.1 (2016-07-06):
- The package now uses PSNFSS font commands if available (fallback for
LaTeX 2.09 is still provided).
- Work around clash with classes/packages that define their own example
and examples environments (most notably the beamer class) or execise
environments. The covington package no longer blindly attempts to
define these environments. By default, it does not define them if
they are already defined (covington's own environments, however, are
still available via aliases). By means of a new package option, a
redefinition can also be forced.
- New length woaccsep allows for the adjustment of the distance
between stacked accents.
- Update manual.
- New maintainer: J. Spitzmüller.
- License has been changed to LPPL (in agreement with M. Covington)
- Introduce version numbers. Arbitrarily, we start with 1.1.
