Summary description: Unslanted Digits in Adobe Utopia Italics

Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Annals of Mathematics uses italics for theorems.
However, slanted
digits and parentheses look disturbing when surrounded by
(upright)
math. This package provides virtual fonts with italics and
upright
digits and punctuation.
Changes:
Version 1.1 - Changed the location of TFM and VF files
per request by Karl Berry
Version 1.2 - Corrected the bug that lead to wrong size in
italics (thanks to AoM staff for
noticing!)

This important upgrade solves the conflict with the txfontsb

default Latin ones, does not get trapped any more in with
the font description files of the txfontsb package.

The FTP service for the CTAN main node
dante.ctan.org
is working again, after replacing the ftp server software (proftpd) by another
one (vsftpd).
With this change, FTP uploads on dante.ctan.org are no longer possible.
Uploads should be done via the web interface:

For the CTAN team
A security flaw has been found in the the FTP server program that is
used at the tug.ctan.org node of CTAN, as noted earler by Rainer.
Consequently I shut off this service. I expect that it will be off for
a few days, for lack of time to repair it. I apologize for the
inconvienence.
Individuals who use HTTP would not be immediately affected by this
change.
Jim
A serious bug has been detecetd in proftpd:
http://bugs.proftpd.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3521
As a consequence, ftp access to ftp.dante.de a.k.a. dante.ctan.org will be
disabled, effective immediately. http or rsync access to dante.ctan.org are not
affected.
Service will be resumed only after this bug is corrected.
