On Sun, 7 Nov 2010 Josef Kleber submitted an update to the
installfont
package.
Summary description: A bash script for installing a LaTeX font family.
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With this script you can install a LaTeX font family
(Postscript Type1, Truetype, Opentype). It supports
font series from light to ultra bold + (faked) small caps
+ faked slanted, but no expert fonts. The script will
rename the fonts automatically (optinal) or will otherwise
expect *.afm files and the font files (in Postscript
Type1 format!) named in the Karl Berry scheme
(e.g. 5nar8a.pfb). After running the script, you should
have a working font installation in your local TeX tree.

Version number: 0.5
Author's name: Danie Els
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/refstyle
Summary description: Advanced formatting of cross references

Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The refstyle provides a consistent way of producing
references throughout a project. Enough flexibility is
provided to make local changes to a single reference. The
user can configure his or own setup.
Changes from version 0.3 to 0.4 (Major update):
(1) List of references can now distinguish between two and
more than two items. For example:
equation (1)
equations (1) and (4)
equations (1), (2), and (5)
(2) Option nokeyprefix is added to remove all the prefixes
in the <type>label commands. The user has now the option to
use the standard latex label command everywhere (especialy
for old documents), for example:
label{tab:xxx} and then abref{tab:xxx} with refstyle
(3) Languages added: French, Italian and Portuguese, Brazilian
Changes from version 0.4 to 0.5:
(1) Workaround for active characters such as :;? in the

The FTP download service at tug.ctan.org is back after an outage of a
couple of days, caused by a security notice issued for the program that
runs the downloads. Thanks to Rainer for the report and help with
fixing the problem.
Ordinary users are not directly affected by this outage and reset.
(Except, those mirror sites that rely on FTP may take a day to sync
their entire holdings to this site and so a user trying to get quite
recent material at a mirror may see a day's delay.)
I'll note that in the reconfiguration I've abandoned anonymous FTP
uploads. Those days are gone.

Name of contribution: bytefield
Version number: 1.3
Author's name: Scott Pakin
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/bytefield
Summary description: Create illustrations for network protocol specifications
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The bytefield package helps the user create illustrations
for network protocol specifications and anything else that
utilizes fields of data. These illustrations show how the
bits and bytes are laid out in a packet or in memory.
Version 1.3 adds support for e-TeX's larger dimen pool using
code provided by Heiko Oberdiek. When used with the etex
package, bytefield should now be far less likely to abort
LaTeX with a No room for a new dimen error.
