Name of contribution: latexmk
Author's name: John Collins
Location on CTAN: /support/latexmk
Summary description: Fully automated LaTeX document generation routine V. 4.08
License type: gpl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This version corrects problem caused by MikTeX 2.7 writing
log files containing binary characters, including ctrl/Z.
When latexmk reads the log file to get dependency
information, a ctrl/Z causes a premature end-of-file
condition. On MS-Win, latexmk now reads the log file in
binary mode.

1. i recently realised that our mirror of macros/plain/base wasn't
delivering the correct stuff (don's latest updates went into
systems/knuth/dist/lib and not to the canonical place on ctan for the
files).
i've therefore corrected that; macros/plain/base now contains don's
latest release.
see http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/plain.html
2. version 3.0 of the amsfonts bundle has been released. this includes
revised versions of the ams fonts, and an update of the long-
established y&y and blue sky research versions of the computer modern
fonts (for which the ams holds the copyright).
note that rather little of the amsfonts documentation has been updated
for the new version; the ams are working on that.
see http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/amsfonts.html
that's quite enough excitement for one day. now i'll get back to _real_
work.

Location on CTAN: /
Summary description: Upgrade of xwatermark package to address some of the issues
raised by users.
License type: nocommercial
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The package puts user-specified watermarks (graphics and
arbitrary texts) on select pages of documents. The user
can specify the watermark and color, the watermark
position and orientation, the page(s) (all pages, odd
pages, even pages, a particular page number, and a range
of pages) on which the watermark should appear, and all
the options are passed directly to package instead of
being defined by macros. It extends the functionality of
the 'draftmark' package to permit the direct use of
graphic watermarks.
