package lilypond. After consulting the lilypond development team, I
have now removed the old package. Potential users (inlcuding me ;-)

CHANGES
I rearranged and rewrote the keys and commands for the pgf-pictures.
Now all styles and marks can be used in the foreground and in the
background. I added definitions for partial borders. I extended the
trim and clip commands. xifthen is now required.
ATTENTION
Upgrading to this version can change the look of existing document.
Notably two things can give problems: The value of the
padding key now affects much more objects (marks) in the pgf
pictures. So it could be necessary to reset the padding. And the
applycolor has changed its behaviour. It will now also affect the
foreground picture.

On Sun, 16 Jul 2006, Markus Triska submitted an update to the
Finomaton
package.
Finomaton allows users to comfortably draw and typeset finite
state machines (automata). The resulting graphs can be exported
to plain MetaPost and subsequently be included in TeX and LaTeX
documents for excellent typesetting quality. Contrary to many
other packages, the mouse can be used to interactively move
objects around. States are magnetic to facilitate connection,

I am pleased to announce that the new ConTeXt release from Hans Hagen
can be downloaded as of now.
The current release has version 2006.07.14
A very short list of changes is given below. As usual, there is an
html page with more detailed release notes available on the Wiki, see:
http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Release_Notes
New features since 2006.05.11:
* The use of sometxt in MetaPost figures (instead of extext) can (sometimes)
remove the need for indirect texexec runs, resulting in a massive
speed improvement for heavy documents.
* Table splitting is reimplemented and improved
* Initial support for the new TeXGyre font families
* A new release of the bib module, with better support for
interaction and per-chapter bibliographies
* Some small extensions to framed
* The database module now supports ASCII (non-TeX) files with CSV
quoting
* setupformulae accepts a conversion parameter now
* More built in math support (matrices etc.)
* A prerelease of the koeieletters font
* A new module for R integration
* Itemizations can be randomized (for multiple-choice courseware)
* Support for typesetting OpenMath (via MathML)

On Sun, 16 Jul 2006, David Kastrup submitted the
bigfoot
package to CTAN. This will-publicized bundle is now available from
CTAN for the first time.
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/bigfoot
Summary description: bigfoot bundle for typesetting footnotes
License type: GPL
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the bigfoot bundle for critical typesetting, consisting of the
packages bigfoot, perpage and suffix.
The package …
[View More]aims to provide a one-stop solution to requirements for
footnotes. It offers:
-- Multiple footnote apparatus superior to that of manyfoot;
-- Footnotes can be formatted in separate paragraphs, or be run into
a single paragraph (this choice may be selected per footnote
series);
-- Things you might have expected (like verb-like material in
footnotes, and colour selections over page breaks) now work.
perpage supersedes perpage.sty in macros/latex/contrib/misc, the
latter was removed to avoid confusion.
