package.
Version: 2.0 2026-04-29
License: lppl1.3
Summary description: Society of Biblical Literature (SBL) style files for BibLaTeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
After many years of slow development, biblatex-sbl v2.0 is finally released!
Highlights include:
- Full support for every example in the SBL Handbook of Style 2nd ed., SBLHS Student Supplement and SBLHS blog.
- Documentation showing how to set up and cite bib entries for every supported example.
- Advanced handling of first and subsequent citations in running text and footnotes.
- Support for a variety of types of reprints.
- Comprehensive support for abbreviations, including citing reference works, ancient works and general abbreviations.
- Support for citing ancient works by both source division and text collection page, including indicating the translator if needed.
- German translation strings
Important Note:
v2.0 breaks compatibility with the v0.x releases in a number of ways. This is both because SBL style has become a rolling style that is continually updated at the blog and lack of development time to maintain many levels of backwards compatibility.

Summary description: Computer Modern fonts including matching non-latin alphabets
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a major release of New Computer Modern which includes many new features, changes and improvements. In short these are
Complete redesign of the Cyrillics to a new design that
is "acceptable" in todays Russia. Bulgarian forms supported.
(cmu and cyrillic-modern have been removed because of license
issues).
Armenian and Georgian added as major scripts in all fonts.
GreekSans redesigned keeping the style but correcting color.
Knuthian Calligraphic capitals have been restored
as the default calligraphic capitals in Regular, Book and Bold
Math fonts. They have been retraced from metafont sources
and adjusted by hand glyph by glyph. Previous calligraphic
letters (Euler type) have been saved in Stylistic Set 6.
Character ypogegrammeni redesigned and
psili/dasia+perispomeni recomposed for all fonts.
LX fonts (very good for beamer work)
added in NewCMSans10 and in NewCMSansMath in StylisticSet 8.
They have been adjusted for color uniformity
and stabilization.
Thanks to Claudio Beccari for this.
Latin letters in NewCM10-Regular and accented and built composites
re-traced from public metafont sources and hand adjusted glyph by glyph
so that with the redesign of Cyrillics and the agreement of C. Beccari
this font, together with NewCM*Devanagari and NewCMUncial*
are now released under GPL3+FontException+DistributionException
(check License.txt and the documentation).
Vietnamese double accent letters adjusted by properly repositioning
accents. Thanks to Karl Berry for letting me know.
Variation Selectors added to all supported math glyphs
satisfying Unicode version 17.0
Added custom fontspec files that adjust microexpansion
of the fonts to match in detail the original CM fonts.
Thanks to Alexey Kuznetsov for providing these files.

Version: 2026-04-22
License: gpl2
Summary description: Tools to simplify using fonts (especially TT/OTF ones)
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This release brings a few changes to autoinst:
- The new “-opticalsizes” option allows manually setting or
overriding a font's optical size information.
Several recent font families (Fraunces, Literata) contain
multiple optical masters but no size information, instead
making each optical size a separate family.
The “-opticalsizes” option allows specifying the optical
size range for each master, so that the fonts can be used
as a single LaTeX family.
- Autoinst now prints an informational message for all weights
and widths that could not be mapped to standard NFSS codes.
- A few bug fixes.

License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Querying astronomical databases in LaTeX
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This new, experimental package, similarly to fits-astro, offers a new way to work with astronomical
data in LaTeX. It allows users to query databases directly from their document using the ADQL
language. It does not depend on a particular engine or package, but it does require shell-escape to
be active. The result of the query is stored in a macro, which can in turn be used anywhere in the
document. This is particularly useful when typesetting tables that contain extensive data about a
celestial object, which can be retrieved automatically.

package.
Version: 0.1.1 2026-04-19
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Annotated bibliographies with abstracts and annotations for BibLaTeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
biblatex-abs-annote v0.1.1 is a new biblatex supplement for producing annotated bibliographies. For each entry it renders, beneath the citation, the abstract and a user-written annotation drawn from standard biblatex fields (annote is accepted as a synonym for annotation); either field may be omitted per entry without special handling. The package composes with any biblatex style by patching the sixteen standard drivers, and all label, font, indent, and spacing choices are customizable. biblatex-abs-annote is the LaTeX component of the cross-format ab-annotate toolchain (GitHub: cwimpy/ab-annotate), which provides the same behavior for Typst and Quarto from a shared .bib file. Version: 2.0 2026-04-19

Summary description: Reviewing LaTeX documents made easy(er)
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reviewing latex documents just got even easier! xreview 2.0 introduces better support for aligned equations with the new remalign and addalign environments. Now if a whole align block has been added or removed, it can be mark with just a simple change of the envormoment name, overcoming the limitations in v1.0 of needing to manage aling tabs. The new environments are highly customizable, and per-line support is still available via the \removedeqline command and it's friends, which got minor bug fixes.
xreview 2.0 also introduces some convenience macros such as \remspace and \remnbsp to handle whitespace near removed text, to ensure both the clean and annotated versions look as good as they can!
