CTAN update: xecjk
by CTAN Announcements via ctan-ann 26 Jun '26

26 Jun '26

Liam Huang submitted an update to the xecjk package. Version: 3.10.0 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: Support for CJK documents in XeLaTeX Announcement text: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- xeCJK v3.10.0 is a major release focused on Chinese inter-character spacing (CJKglue/CJKecglue) correctness across whatsit-bearing contexts, with broad fixes and a few breaking changes. Highlights: NEW FEATURES * New \xeCJKchar command bypassing interchar handling, replacing the earlier \char redefinition that broke xint and other packages (resolves #407, #800). * New experiment/halfright-prebreakpenalty option (#811). * New experiment/punct-measure-fix option for paragraph-mode punctuation-compensation glue eaten by \unskip. * New NoBreakLongPunct character property forbidding line breaks before long punctuation such as ellipses. * Document fonts unified to Noto Serif CJK; xunicode-symbols.tex now uses a five-level per-character font fallback chain (FreeSerif -> Noto Sans Symbols 2 -> Symbola -> Segoe UI Symbol -> DejaVu Sans) for #878. * Unicode data resynchronised through Unicode 17.0 (with 15.0 / 15.1 catch-up). BUG FIXES (CJKglue / CJKecglue / boundary recovery) * \textcolor and other color whatsit nodes no longer drop CJKecglue on either side (#807, #809, #810, #831, #832). * \textcolor wrapping ulem-family underline commands no longer corrupts CJK inter-character spacing (#830). * Spurious inter-word glue after explicit "}", \mbox and \textcolor is suppressed (#831). * hyperref link annotations preserve CJKecglue across the \Hy@BeginAnnot whatsit (#809, #810). * xeCJKfntef commands no longer leave a stray space on their right side; font-state and \g_@@_last_node_tl are now saved across the hbox (#465, #826). * hypdoc \HD@target hbox and url \Url@FormatString math entry no longer shadow boundary markers (#873, #880). * \lstinline now preserves the character code of catcode-6 tokens beyond '#' (e.g. when \catcode`\&=6) (#879). * Trailing space after a CJK character before a macro is no longer emitted as glue prematurely. * xCJKecglue option and \xeCJKnobreak handling corrected. BREAKING CHANGES * \newCJKfontfamily now defines its font-switching command locally instead of globally (#751/PR #773). * Removed compatibility shims for LaTeX2e versions older than 2020/10/01 (#746). * Minimum LaTeX3 (expl3) version raised to 2025/10/09. DEPRECATED * \xeCJKsetcharclass is deprecated. Full ChangeLog (per \changes{v3.10.0} entries) is available in the package documentation. CTAN update: CTeX
by CTAN Announcements 26 Jun '26

26 Jun '26

Liam Huang submitted an update to the CTeX bundle. Version: 2.6.0 2026-06-23 License: lppl1.3c Summary description: LaTeX classes and packages for Chinese typesetting Announcement text: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ctex v2.6.0 is a major release that synchronises the bundle with recent LaTeX2e and expl3 baselines and addresses long-standing issues across heading, font, and engine-adaptation subsystems. NEW FEATURES * New experimental option experiment/font-size-system selecting between word, letterpress (was traditional) and user-defined Chinese font-size tables (#543, #813). * Document clarifies that "letterpress" denotes one specific metal-type font-size system rather than the only traditional one (#871). * pdfLaTeX with UTF-8 input now prefers the \DeclareUnicodeCharacter definition for four-byte UTF-8 characters (#815). * Document fonts unified to the Noto CJK family (#686). BUG FIXES * hyperref driverfallback is now handled per loading state to avoid duplicate-setting warnings (#715). * The \verb / \do@noligs xkanjiskip leak under upLaTeX is fixed by porting the lltjcore patch (#556). * pifont's interchartokenstate no longer leaks into the output routine via a vertical-mode page break (#688). * Heading documentation explains the interaction between the runin and aftertitle options (#574). * Fixed corrupt argument signature \@@_char_auxi:NNNN (was NNN). * CJKpunct override of CJKglue in the preamble now works for all engines via the engine-deferred redefinition pattern (#761). BREAKING CHANGES * \newCJKfontfamily defines its font-switching command locally instead of globally (#751/PR #773), aligning with \newcommand semantics inside groups. * Removed compatibility shims for LaTeX2e older than 2020/10/01 (#746). * Minimum LaTeX3 (expl3) baseline raised to 2025/10/09. DEPRECATIONS * Replaced deprecated _tl keys with \l_keys_key_str and \l_keys_choice_str (#806). * Replaced deprecated \char_to_utfviii_bytes:n. CTAN update: lualineno
by CTAN Announcements via ctan-ann 26 Jun '26

26 Jun '26

Udi Fogiel submitted an update to the lualineno package. Version: 0.2 2026-06-25 License: 0bsd Summary description: Line numbering in LuaTeX-based formats Announcement text: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * columns are now detected from the node structure instead of with an attribute, which seems more robust and requires less patching. As a consequence paracol columns are numbered correctly now. * vertical stacking inside horizontal boxes is checked now, so boxes that pgf stacks vertically inside an \hbox are handled. * the colattr key is removed as this attribute is no longer used. * labels inside math or after ligatures are fixed, but now labels creates whatsit nodes (in LateX this is normal). This can create some spacing changes around the label. * A new whatsitid key to allocate the id of the whatsit which carries the label toks. * more examples in the documentation, and a note about tagging was added. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This package is located at https://mirrors.ctan.org/macros/luatex/generic/lualineno More information is at https://ctan.org/pkg/lualineno -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thanks for the upload.
