Snapshot of SVN 2900
- A new l3str package is included in l3experimental. This provides a range of 'string' functions for LaTeX3, for example UTF-8 byte conversions for PDF use.
- Also new in l3experimental is l3regex, a regular expression search and replace module. This works on a string basis and so requires l3str. Both l3regex and l3str are intended for discussion on LaTeX-L.
- New native-drivers option for expl3 for low-level testing of graphics/colour driver code.
- More functions are now f-type expandable, for example int_to_base:...
- iow_new:N and ior_new:N are re-introduced, but at this stage are not required for stream use. These functions should be used for stream management as they may be required in a future snapshot.
- Experimental TrimSpaces argument processor in xparse (to be discussed on LaTeX-L).
- A number of minor performance enhancements have been carried out.
- Internal fix so that check-declarations option for expl3 works correctly.
- Bug fix in l3fp for trig. functions with exact pi/2 arguments.
- Bug fix for coffin typesetting so that coffins are typeset with their reference point 'here' as standard.
- Work on xgalley continues, with a number of improvements to the implementation. More changes are planned to this module, and will be raised on LaTeX-L in due course.
thanks for the uploads; i've installed the new version, and updated the catalogue repository (making a first cut catalogue entry for xgalley).
Users may view the package catalogue entry at http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/l3kernel.html http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/l3packages.html http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/l3experimental.html or they may browse the package directory at http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/l3kernel/ http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/l3packages/ http://www.tex.ac.uk/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/l3experimental/
The catalogue entry will change (somewhat) overnight tonight, and at the same time, the entry for xgalley will appear for the first time).
