A package has been updated on tug.ctan.org and should by now have found its way to your favorite mirror.
Thanks for the update, Jim Hefferon
======================================================================
The following information was provided by the package's contributor.
Name of contribution: IEEEconf Author's name: Scott Pakin Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/IEEEconf/ Summary description: Class for typesetting IEEE Computer Society Press conference papers License type: lppl
Announcement text given by the package's contributor: - - ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The IEEEconf class implements the formatting dictated by the IEEE Computer Society Press for conference proceedings (http://www.computer.org/cspress/instruct.htm). IEEEconf.cls replaces latex8.sty and latex8.bst. The goal was to produce a more faithful implementation of the formatting rules and to do so with cleaner LaTeX code than that provided by the latex8.* files.
This update (v1.2) improves the formatting of the author blocks, laying them out in a more aesthetic manner. - - ----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can have a look at the package at http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/IEEEconf/ although you may get a better network connection by visiting a mirror of CTAN that is near to you; see http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/README.mirrors .
