i've installed v3.5.1 of the faq on ctan and on http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq
this version mends a significant number of stupid typos that tim love (of c.u.engineering dept) spotted and told me about yesterday afternoon.
my apologies for the rapid re-issue. distributors' version building as i type.
