Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
bytefield
package.
Version number: 2.6 License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Create illustrations for network protocol specifications
Announcement text: ----------------------------------------------------------------------
The bytefield package helps the user create illustrations for network protocol specifications and anything else that utilizes fields of data. These illustrations show how the bits and bytes are laid out in a packet, register, or memory.
Version 2.6 makes a number of improvements related to the curly braces that group related words. First, the horizontal spacing surrounding those braces is now more even. Second, the leftwordgroup and rightwordgroup environments accept optional kev/value parameters. Third, new curlystyle, leftcurlystyle, and rightcurlystyle options have been introduced to enable coloring or adding other effects to the curly braces. Thanks to Victor Toni for his suggestions and help testing.
