I've uploaded labels.tar.gz to ftp.tex.ac.uk.
This tarball contains a replacement for the files in macros/latex/contrib/supported/labels, and I have the permission of Sebastian Rahtz to do this.
It provides a new package option `newdimens' which allows a much more flexible specification of the label layout. Without the option, the package functions identically to the way it used to.
No change in licensing conditions.
i've installed the new version as requested. thanks for the upload.
