If you are submitting something for The Computer Journal (published by the British Computer Society) you can use this BibTeX style file for formatting the bibliography, since their rules for handling references are rather particular and not covered by any other BibTeX style file I know of. This style file is the result from hand-editing a basic style file produced using the great custom-bib package by Patrick W Daly.
