OzTeX is a stand-alone Mac implementation of TeX, or it can be used as a front-end to teTeX on OS X.

I try to keep the above download version as small as possible (the .sit archive is 13.2MB). OzTeX 5.2 is also available on a CD packed with extra fonts, macros and TeX-related software, including Gerben Wierda's teTeX/Ghostscript installer. More details here:
