ABOUT CSQUOTES

LaTeX provides environments for typesetting longer quotations, but there is no dedicated markup for short quotations embedded in the text body.

The csquotes package:

• provides proper markup for inline quotations in the first place
• supports both control sequences and active characters
• toggles between inner and outer quotation marks for nested quotes
• interfaces with Babel and adapts quotation marks as required
• features fully configurable quotation styles and active characters
