All Greek letters are defined both in ...up and ...it variants. The style (ISO, TeX, or French i.e. upright) can be modified midway in the document. For a complete math solution, see rather libertinust1math. The initial 2011 release was set-up to use font files mapping to Linux Libertine or Biolinum, but the libertine-legacy package providing this has been obsolete for some years, and as a result this package was broken on new installations. The 2022 release has switched to using libertinus-type1 as it provides LGR-encoded fonts.
