Karl Berry submitted an update to the
epstopdf
package.
Version: 2.33 2023-09-15
License: other-free
Summary description: Convert EPS to PDF using Ghostscript
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
epstopdf 2.33 fixes an error failing to recognize PATH elements on
Cygwin (separator is : on Cygwin, not 😉. Thanks to Alois Steindl.
General description: epstopdf is a Perl script that converts an EPS file
to an encapsulated PDF file (a single-page self-contained file whose
media box is the same as the original EPS's bounding box). The resulting
file is suitable for inclusion as an image. The script runs on both
Windows and Unix-ish systems.
The script makes use of Ghostscript (overridable) for the actual
conversion to PDF. By default, it suppresses Ghostscript's automatic
rotation of pages.
LaTeX users may make use of the epstopdf package, which will run the
(restricted form of the) epstopdf script on the fly, thus giving the
illusion that pdfLaTeX, etc. is accepting EPS graphic files.

Léo Colisson submitted an update to the
robust-externalize
package.
Version number: 2.0
License type: mit
Summary description: Cache anything (TikZ, python, ...) in a robust, efficient and pure
way
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Major update to this caching library: it brings some major performance improvements (5
times faster than before, so overall we compile the file 22x times faster). We can also
now automatically cache (or not) selected environments and macros, including tikz,
precompile presets etc, parallel compilation of pictures, better documentation on how to
avoid using -shell-escape, and much more.
To achieve this, I needed to introduce some minor non-backward compatible changes (but
the first version CTAN release was only a few days ago, so it should not be too much of
an issue). ----------------------------------------------------------------------

## What is a TeX-style shebang (`%#!`) ?
In short, a TeX-style shebang (`%#!`) is a special kind of TeX comment
that you include in your TeX/LaTeX document file to tell the operating system's
shell how to run the file for the rest of the file:
``` latex
%#!lualatex foo.tex
documentclass{article}
egin{document}
Hello, {LaTeX} World!
Happy {TeX}ing.
end{document}
```

``` shell
runtexshebang foo.tex
