We've decided to make the book available in source form, under the GNU Free Documentation License, as our way of supporting the community which supported the book in the first place. v3.9 of the uk tex faq

i have just installed a new version on ctan at help/uk-tex-faq, and on the web at http://www.tex.ac.uk/faq this latest version has a few minor changes (mostly editorial in nature), and i'm only releasing it because of the changes in the structure of the macros/latex/contrib tree on ctan: the subdirectories supported/ and other/ are to disappear before i expect to have a chance to work on the faq again. i've just read a post from chris wallace, on c.t.t, which says the canonical source is elsewhere, and the 2.09 ones on ctan are obsolete (the post offered a link to some publisher's site, fwiw). so i've done the obvious thing and moved macros/latex209/contrib/aasmacros to the obsolete tree on ctan.
