On Sun, 11 Apr 2010 Martin Scharrer submitted an update to the svn-prov package. Using these options the preamble code of the sub-files can not only be skipped but extracted into an auxiliary file (.sta) which is then loaded by the main document during the next LaTeX run. The body content of the sub-files is skipped during the first run to avoid compile errors. To avoid option clashes of loaded packages all package option can be extracted first and predefined using 'PassOptionsToPackage'. Alternatively the sub-preambles can be simply printed (without special macros added by 'standalone') into a different auxiliary file (.stp) for easy manual copy&paste into the main document. If requested a list of required packages and pgf, tikz and tikz-timing libraries can be printed avoiding duplicates.
