On Tue, 9 Aug 2011 Pavel Farar submitted the dejavu package. Summary description: LaTeX support for the fonts DejaVu License type: other-free ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This package contains LaTeX support for the fonts DejaVu. They are derived from the Vera fonts and contain more characters and styles. The fonts are included in the original TrueType format and converted Type 1 format. The (currently) supported encodings are: OT1, T1, IL2, TS1, T2* and X2. The package (currently) supports neither Greek nor math. More encodings and/or features will come later. The fonts are licensed under the Vera and Arev licenses, DejaVu changes are in the public domain. All the support files are released under the LaTeX Project Public License, either version 1.3 of this license or (at your option) any later version. The files released under the LaTeX Project Public License are listed in manifest.txt. The main reason why I created this package is that I am not satisfied with the Arev and Bera packages for the Czech language, but some problems are not just Czech-related. Moreover, you get more characters and styles. Hello, In the next few hours, our hosting provider does maintenance work on infrastructure. During that time, power will be turned off. For that reason, I will shut down comedy.dante.de, a.k.a. dante.ctan.org, the German CTAN server in short time. Controlled shut down is much better than simply plugging the cord... ;-) The server will be back up in roughly 9 hours, at 07:00 UTC. (That's 9am Central European Summer Time, in case you're wondering. :-) During that time, CTAN mailing lists will not be reachable, mirrors can't rsync, no downloads or uploads can happen. Summary description: Produce PostScript Type 1 fonts from Metafont source License type: lppl Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- mf2pt1 facilitates producing PostScript Type 1 fonts from a Metafont source file. mf2pt1's advantage over tools such as TeXtrace and mftrace is that it does not rely on bitmap tracing and therefore can produce higher-quality Type 1 fonts than trace-based tools. The catch is that mf2pt1 imposes some restrictions on the Metafont input so it is not, as the name may imply, an automatic converter of arbitrary Metafont fonts to Type 1 format. Version 2.4.5 incorporates a bug fix from Werner Lemberg that prevents non-INT arguments from being passed to hsbw in the definition of .notdef. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience. Other changes are listed below: * Command names are now `protected`; this makes them safe to use in moving arguments and so on * Similarly to the change in v0.5c, the main math font is now loaded in math family zero (equiv. to LaTeX's `operators` math font) * `mathring` added * Ensure that a math font has been selected in order to prevent problems in minimal documents (this will be unnecessary when the OpenType LM math font is released) * Documentation for which was which of epsilon/varepsilon was backwards!
