Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
dashrule
package.
Summary description: Draw dashed rules
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The dashrule package makes it easy to draw a huge variety of
dashed rules (i.e., lines) in LaTeX. dashrule provides a
command, hdashrule, which is a cross between LaTeX's
ule
and PostScript's setdash command. hdashrule draws
horizontally dashed rules using the same syntax as
ule,
but with an additional, setdash-like parameter that
specifies the pattern of dash segments and the space between
those segments. Because dashrule's rules are constructed
internally using
ule (as opposed to, e.g., PostScript
specials) they are fully compatible with every LaTeX
back-end processor.
Version 1.3 fixes a small bug that introduced spurious
spaces into the output.

Summary description: Multilingual support for Plain TeX or LaTeX

Announcement text:

Babel 3.9b version fixes lots of bugs and adds some new features (intended
mainly to make it compatible with Unicode engines). Some bugs have not been
fixed to avoid backward incompatibilities, but they have been documented. Most
of the new features (like package options) are intended to overcome issues in
previous releases without changing significantly the behaviour of Babel.
Starting with this version, babel has been separated in a core (or base) part,
and contributed language-specific packages.
The core part is located in the subdirectory base, the contrib part is actually

[2013/03/03]
The documentation has again being extended:
* it is explained how to convert the TOC data into a tree in the
standard TikZ syntax (rather than the Qtree syntax used in the
previous documentation release from two days ago). And this time,
hyperlinks are functional (which explains why I felt like
announcing it world wide). The examples use the `grow cyclic'
style (from the TikZ trees library) and produce `molecule-type'
TOCs.
* it is detailed how to tell the ableofcontents command to
produce paragraphs of the following type: This chapter contains
5 sections and 17 subsections. The name of the first subsection
is `Do not read me' and the name of the last is `I told you so'.

1.07e [2013/03/01]
The minor updates during the previous month have brought some
various improvments to the code, and relatively important changes:
* v1.07b removed the xspace previously used in etocname,
etocnumber, etocpage. This could mean that some sources will
have to be edited, my apologies for that.
* v1.07e (this update) completely modifies the (unsatisfactory)
use of penalties and vertical spaces in the package `own line
styles'. The changes could cause documents having made use of
these etoc default line styles to compile a bit differently,
my apologies for that.
The documentation has been gradually extended to include more and
more examples of various uses of the package. Are now explained,
among others:
* an example of an `inline' TOC with the subsections and the
sub-subsections being typeset as footnotes to the sections,
* an example of a TOC using the LaTeX default layout except for
the subsections of one given section,
* an example of a TOC listing all TOCs of the documents,
* an example of a subsection which is itself a TOC on three
columns displaying all subsections of the document,
* and the latest addition: a TOC displayed as a tree. (uses tikz
and package tikz-qtree).
