pdfcomment

Summary description: A user-friendly interface to PDF annotations
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For a long time pdflatex has offered the command pdfannot for inserting
arbitrary PDF annotations. However, the command is presented in
a form where additional knowledge of the definition of the PDF format is
indispensable. This package is an answer to the – occasional – questions
in newsgroups, about how one could use the comment function of Adobe
Reader. At least for the writer of LaTeX code, the package offers a
convenient and user-friendly means of using pdfannot to provide comments
in PDF files. Since version v1.1, pdfcomment.sty also supports:
LaTeX -> dvips -> ps2pdf, LaTeX -> dvipdfmx and XeLaTeX.
Unfortunately, support of PDF annotations by PDF viewers is sparse to
nonexistent. The reference viewer for the development of this package is
Adobe Reader.

On Thu, 27 Sep 2012 Jean-François Burnol submitted an update to the
mathastext
package.
Summary description: Use the text font in simple mathematics
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The mathastext package automatically (or only locally)
changes the document fonts used in math mode for letters and
digits (and a few other punctuation and symbol signs) to
replace them by the font used for the text. Thus, the
package makes it possible to use a quite arbitrary font
without worrying too much that it does not have specially
designed accompanying math fonts. Also, mathastext provides
a simple mechanism in order to use more than one
math-as-text font in the same document.
+ new with 1.15: with the `subdued' option it is possible
to let the `mathastextification' act locally in the document.
+ new with 1.15b: some backward incompatibility introduced
by a `feature' of 1.15 is fixed, and the documentation is
made clearer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
In eledmac :
- new package option parapparatus : it allows paragraph inside critical notes (except for paragraphed notes)
- ledchapter ledsection ledsubsection ledsubsubsection and the starred versions allows critical notes for sectionning command. Read the handbook.
- new command to add in preamble labelpstarttrue: if you use it, a label put just after a pstart will refer to the pstart number
- hooks for note customization :
- Correction on
umberonlyfirstinline with lineation by pstart or by page.
- Add
umberonlyfirstintwolines[series] : must be used in combination with
umberonlyfirstinline. If you use
umberonlyfirstintwolines, l.2-3 will be distincted from l. 2
- pstartinfootnote[series] : print the pstart in the footnote number. Auto enabled with lineation{pstart} and auto disabled with lineation{page} and lineation{section}
- onlypstartinfootnote[series] : print only the pstart number in footnotes, and not the line number.
- hookXnote[series]{code}, hooknoteX[series]{code}, hookXendnote[series]{code} to add an arbitraty code at the begining of a critical/familiara/end note
- eforeXnotes[series]{length} eforenotesX[series]{length} : to define space before critical or familiar footnotes.
- xtbeforeXnotes[series]{txt} : to add text before critical footnotes.
- maxhXnotes[series]{lenght} and maxhnotesX[series]{length} : to define the max height of critical / familiar footnotes. Read the handbook
- preXnotes{length} and prenotesX{length} can be use to define the space before the first series of critical/critical footnotes of the pages, instead of the value defined by eforeXnotes[series]{length} / eforenotesX[series]{length}
- when two (or more) sidenotes are in the same line, they are both printed, separated by a comma. But you can redefine sidenotesep to change this separator.
In eledpar :
- compatibility with eledmac 1.1
- the option shiftedverses becomes shiftedpstart. And so shiftedversestrue becomes shiftedpstartstrue and shiftedversesfalse becomes shiftedpstartsfalse

On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
langcode
package.
Summary description: language-dependent settings based on language codes
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
`langcode.sty' in the first instance provides a command
uselangcode{<chars>}
to adjust language-dependent settings, such as key words,
typographical conventions, and language codes (ISO-639-1).
An author frequently writing documents in two or more languages
can use the same commands independently of the language,
provided they are gathered in a list macro to be used by the
`dowith' package. If `<cmd>' is in the list, it is set to work
like `<chars><cmd>', and a macro `langcode' will expand to
<chars> (the respective tokens), usable in URLs.
The package is ``generic, based on `plainpkg'. The code has
been used with `morehype' and `catchdq' (`catcodes'), but may
be useful more generally.

On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
catcodes
package.
Summary description: generic handling of category codes (private letters, active characters)
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The `catcodes' bundle deals with category code switching.
The contained packages should work with LaTeX as well as
without (based on the `plainpkg' package). The important
cases of category codes are
(a) private letters for internal package commands and
(b) active characters.
`stacklet.sty' deals with (a), `actcodes.sty' with (b).
There also is
(c) `catchdq.sty', an application of (b),
for automatic insertion of typographical double quotes
when the user only enters ASCII double quotes. What is
typographical differs between languages, the new
`langcode' package completes `catchdq''s functionality
in this respect.
See README for documentation and
similar (more comprehensive) packages.
Some macros and code are moving here from the `morehype'
and `nicetext' bundles, attempting to improve all of
them. It may take some weeks to upload my most recent
versions of the latter bundles to render the public
versions compatible which each other again.

On Thu, 20 Sep 2012 Uwe Lück submitted the
plainpkg
package.
Summary description: minimal method for making generic packages
License type: lppl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
`plainpkg.tex' provides a minimal method for making generic
packages, combining `maybeload' functionality, fallback definitions
for ProvidesPackage and RequirePackage, and handling of arbitrary
(multiple) private letters in nested package files. The
documentation contains a central reference for making and using
generic packages based on `plainpkg.tex'.
For catcode stacks, the package actually requires
stacklet.sty (new catcodes bundle). See README for
related (more comprehensive) packages.
