Donald P. Story submitted an update to the
grayhints
package.
Version number: 2018-11-01
License type: lppl1.2
Summary description: Produce ‘gray hints’ to a variable text field
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This package provides JavaScript code snippets to create 'gray hints'.
Gray hints, as I term them, are text that appears initially in a text
field that gives a short hint as to what the contents of the text field
should be; for example, a text field might contain the hint 'First
Name', or a date field might read 'yyyy/mm/dd'. As soon as the field
comes into focus, the hint disappears. It reappears when the field is
blurred and the user did not enter any text into the field.
What's New (2018/11/01) Revised package to work correctly with
PDF-XChange Editor (not PDF-XChange View). Improved code for handling
the case where the user commits date by pressing the Enter key (the
data is committed, but the field does not blur). Some commands for
customizing the user experience in the case of pressing the Enter key
to commit.

Josef Kleber submitted an update to the
pdfcomment
package.
Version number: 2.4a
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: A user-friendly interface to pdf annotations
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For a long time pdflatex has offered the command `pdfannot` for inserting
arbitrary PDF annotations. However, the command is presented in a form
where additional knowledge of the definition of the PDF format is
indispensable. This package is an answer to the – occasional – questions
in newsgroups, about how one could use the comment function of Adobe
Reader. At least for the writer of LaTeX code, the package offers a
convenient and user-friendly means of using `pdfannot` to provide
comments in PDF files. Since version v1.1, pdfcomment.sty also supports:
LaTeX -> dvips -> ps2pdf, LaTeX -> dvipdfmx, XeLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
Unfortunately, support of PDF annotations by PDF viewers may vary. The
reference viewer for the development of this package is Adobe Reader.

Martin Gieseking submitted an update to the
dvisvgm
package.
Version number: 2.6.1
License type: gpl3+
Summary description: Convert DVI, EPS, and PDF files to Scalable Vector
Graphics format (SVG)
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
dvisvgm 2.6 is a small feature release that adds the new command-line
option --page-hashes. It allows for skipping the conversion of a page if
its content hasn’t changed and the corresponding SVG file already exists.
When this option is given, dvisvgm computes a hash value from the DVI
pages and adds it to the name of the SVG file to be written. As the hash
value only changes if the contents of the DVI page change, there’s
normally no need to convert existing SVG files again which should speed up
the conversion of large documents significantly. For more information on
this topic and further changes, see https://dvisvgm.de/News.

Frederik Tilmann submitted an update to the
latexdiff
package.
Version number: 1.3.0
License type: gpl3
Summary description: Determine and mark up significant differences between LaTeX files
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Feature extensions:
* treat options to documentclass as potential package names (some packages allow implicit loading of or imply selected
packages)
* verbatim and lstlisting environments are marked-up with line-by-line in a similar style to non-verbatim text
(requires the listing package to be installed). Also see new configuration variable VERBATIMLINEENV (several issues and
pull requests by jprotze)
* --flatten: now supports verbatiminput and lstlistinput
* --flatten: if file is not found, do not fail, simply warn and leave command unexpanded (inspired by issue #112).
Don't even warn if file name contains #[0-9] as it is then most likely an argument within a command definition rather
than an actual file (applies to input, subfile, include commands)
* new config variable CUSTOMDIFCMD to allow defining special versions of commands in added or deleted blocks (Pull
request by github user jprotze)
* added option -no-links, which suppress generation of hyperreferences. This is mostly (or only) useful in the context
of the --only-changes option of latexdiff-vc in only-changes modes) (Pull request by github user jprotze)
Bug fixes:
* pattern matching of verb and lstinline commands had an error which meant they would trigger on commands beginning
with verb.
* In description environments, mark up item descriptions by effectively reating the insides of item commannds as text
commands (fixes #161)
* improved pattern matching: now allows nested angular brackets, and is no longer confused by escaped curly braces
* improved pattern matching in COARSE mode: occasionally, the closing bracket or some other elements would be matched
in an 'unnatural' way due to another sequence being more minimal in the computational sense, sometimes even causing
errors due to tokens moving in or out of the scope of math environments. This is now discouraged by adding internal
DIFANCHOR commands (which are removed again in post-processing) (fixes issues reported via email by li_ruomeng )
* added to textcmds: intertext from amsmath package

latex2e-help-texinfo
package.
Version number: 2018-10-15
License type: pd
Summary description: Unofficial reference manual covering LaTeX2e
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We have updated the unofficial LaTeX2e reference manual.
The main change is that we now offer the manual in a version that
is split into separate web pages for each section or subsection.
This new version is more host-friendly. To celebrate we have
set up a host.
https://latexref.xyz
We still offer the one-page version.
http://latexref.xyz/dev/latex2e.html
So you now have two easy-to-remember ways to access the reference
on the web.
If you'd like to host a web mirror of the manual, whether to have a
convenient local reference or to offer a service to the community, we've
included instructions at https://latexref.xyz/dev/mirroring.html.
In addition to the format news, there were many bug fixes and new
entries, including smash and phantom.
The English version and the French version track closely, although
they are separate projects on CTAN. The Spanish version needs
a maintainer.
Contributions are always welcome on the mailing list at
latexrefman(a)tug.org. More systematic contributions are also very
welcome; see the suggestions at https://latexref.xyz/dev/writing.html.
More information, with links to mailing lists, other formatts, etc.,
