The image file argument of the `poster' option has become optional with this update. This new variant of the `poster' option causes the player plugin of Adobe Reader to show the very first frame of the movie or to show the frame at the beginning of a movie segment, which has been specified with the `startat' and `endat' options. 2.) A new user macro has been added: movieref It allows embedded movies and sounds to be referenced from any location within the document. `movieref' creates a hyperlink to either stop, pause or resume the media, or to restart it at different settings, such as frame rate, volume and start/end positions. Furthermore, clicking the hyperlink opens the page containing the media it is pointing to. 3.) Compatibility commands `movie' and `hyperlinkmovie' have been added such that `movie15' can be used as a replacement for Till Tantau's `multimedia' package, which is part of his Beamer-Class. CTAN location movements

In response to various problems we (or users) have encountered, the following changes of location have taken place: macros/latex/contrib/powerdot -> macros/latex/contrib/powerdot/distrib macros/latex/contrib/powerdot-contrib -> macros/latex/contrib/powerdot/contrib macros/latex/contrib/carlisle/textcase.* -> macros/latex/contrib/textcase Also, _files_ (not directories) macros/generic/* have moved to macros/generic/misc/*, except where the package has gained a directory of its own. (For example, there is a new directory macros/generic/tables.) A start has been made on similar moves in macros/plain/contrib and biblio/bibtex/contrib; there's one file in macros/latex209/contrib that needs to move to ./misc, too. The catalogue is updated as each move is made. Catalogue changes will propagate (at worst) on a daily timescale (according to the time zones in which individual copies are held). Note: not everything that's moved appears in the catalogue: there's just too much of it. It may well be that the whole of CTAN is properly catalogued by the end of this century... License: GPL Location on CTAN: macros/latex/contrib/preview/ Here are the release notes: The main purpose of the preview package is the extraction of selected elements from a LaTeX source, like formulas or images, into separate pages of a DVI file. This works with DVI files postprocessed by either Dvips and Ghostscript or dvipng, but it also works when you are using PDFTeX for generating PDF files. Current uses of the package include the preview-latex package for WYSIWYG functionality in the AUCTeX editing environment, generation of previews in LyX, as part of the operation of the ps4pdf package, the tbook XML system and some other tools. The preview package is being developed along and distributed with preview-latex. With the integration of preview-latex into AUCTeX as of version 11.81, the preview package became part of AUCTeX as well. It can therefore be obtained as part of AUCTeX distribution files available at <URL:ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/auctex/>. CTAN provides the standalone preview package at <CTAN:macros/latex/contrib/preview>. For more information about the preview package please refer to the home page of AUCTeX at <URL:http://www.gnu.org/software/auctex/>.
