Author's name: Kevin Hamlen
Location on CTAN: /macros/latex/contrib/songs
Summary description: Songs package updated to version 2.7!
License type: gpl
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The Songs package has been updated to version 2.7!
Since the last CTAN announcement many useful
improvements have been added including:
* A more flexible and user-friendly keyval syntax for
entering song information
* A chord-replay system that allows users to type chords
only once when multiple verses of a song use the same
chords
* A chorus-replay system that can automatically insert a
copy of the chorus on fresh pages when generating foils
for an overhead projector
* The automatic transposition system now recognizes and
correctly transposes solfedge names for notes.
* Multinational characters can now be used in index
files. (Sorting of multinational characters is based on
the machine's current locale setting.)
* More than two columns in song sections are now
possible.
* The chord-replay system now supports memorizing and
replaying multiple sequences of chords, stored in user-
defined registers.
* Graphical begin- and end-repeat signs can be typeset
with lrep and
rep.
* Sequences of chords grouped over a single syllable can
be replayed either together or separately over a single
syllable or multiple syllables.
* Many bug-fixes and additional customization options
have also been added.
As always, the latest version of the songs package,
including song-entry utilities and self-installers for
Windows, can be downloaded from the package webpage at:
