Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear all,
we use the Traffic Light Procotol (TLP) to denote the intended
audience of our forensic reports. To simply use the TLP in our
reports, we provide the tlp package which has a simple
`\tlp` command.
We currently rely on `xcolor` as well as LaTeX3; maybe there
is some way to make this more compatible to other releases
of LaTeX....

John H. Lienhard submitted an update to the
asmejour
package.
Version: 1.25 2025-04-07
License: mit
Summary description: A template for ASME journal papers
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The asmejour class is a template to format preprints in the style of journal
papers published by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
This version introduces support for unicode-math, which is now loaded by default
with lualatex. The required fonts are in TeX Live.
Several legacy options and commands have been eliminated. More of the code has
been converted to expl3 from latex2e. The following packages are no longer
loaded by the class: titlesec, enumitem, ifthen, iftex, totcount, hologo (now in
the .tex file), mathalfa (can load in .tex file if needed), as well as these
packages that were formerly loaded only as fallbacks: hyperxmp, bookmark, and
inputenc. The kvoptions package now loads only for backward compatibility. Full
details are in the README file.
The class is backward compatible to the October 2020 latex distribution; the
class will not compile with older formats.
This version is PDF/UA-2 compliant when: the [captionpatch] option is used;
subcaptions are not used; figures are compliant; either the [nolists] option is
called or \ref* is used in the optional argument of captions; and
\DocumentMetadata is properly called. Such PDF files validate fully under the
Arlington model and with demo.vera.org.

HitType
package.
Version: 2.0 2025-04-07
License: lppl1.3c nocommercial
Summary description: Typesetting Hittite cuneiform
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a major revision to the HitType package, creating a new basic command
structure which allows it to be safely incorporated into documents which also
include the LuwianType package. It does away with the capitalized commands in
favor of a simple parser that uses space- or stop-separated lowercase sign
names which improves the typing experience, and allows for simpler sign naming
conventions which align more closely with the Ullikummi font documentation.
This new version has now also been officially validated with XeLaTeX besides
LuaLaTeX, allowing for more users to benefit from its functionality.

### Changed
- Improved performance in the package code added to the
`selectfont` hook.
- The documentation now states that `fontscale` does not load
any other packages.
- The documentation now states that `\currentfontstep`,
`\currentfontscale`, and `\currentfontsize` do not expand
`\f@size`.
### Fixed
- The documentation now correctly states that the classic
typographic scale includes font size `30`. (`30` was not
included in some older versions of The Elements of Typographic
Style by Robert Bringhurst.)
- The package now correctly uses `\dim_use:N` and `\skip_use:N`
when using `expl3` `dim` and `skip` variables in `LaTeX2e` commands.
- Removed incorrect code comment regarding compatibility with
the `microtype` package.
- The internal commands that store the value of the keys
`<font size command>/scale`, `<font size command>/size`,
and `<font size command>/baselineskip` now correctly store
the value of the evaluated floating point/dimen/skip expression.
This should result in more consistent behavior if
`\fontscalesetup` is used again.
