Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
hyperxmp
package.
Version number: 5.6
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Embed XMP metadata within a LaTeX document
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform) is a mechanism proposed by Adobe for
embedding document metadata within the document itself. The metadata
are designed to be easy to extract, even by programs that are oblivious
to the document's file format. Most of Adobe's applications store XMP
metadata when saving files. Now, with the hyperxmp package, it is
trivial for LaTeX document authors to store XMP metadata in their
documents as well.
hyperxmp integrates seamlessly with hyperref and requires virtually no
modifications to documents that already exploit hyperref's mechanisms
for specifying PDF metadata. hyperxmp can embed a wide variety of
metadata as XMP, including the list of authors, document title, contact
information (telephone number, postal address, email address, etc.),
copyright statement, keywords, natural language, and much more.
hyperxmp is compatible with pdflatex, lualatex, xelatex, latex+dvipdfm,
and latex+dvips+Distiller.
Version 5.6 of hyperxmp is a bug-fix release. This version no longer
crashes when HarfBuzz is used for text shaping; it correctly identifies
fonts provided by files containing a space in their name; and it
interoperates better with the ifdraft package. Thanks to John H.
Lienhard and Tobias Pape for their bug reports and for their help
testing the changes to the code.

Sebastian Ørsted submitted an update to the
SemanTeX
package.
Version: 0.45 2020-10-03
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Semantic, keyval-based mathematics
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Apart from various bug fixes, there are quite a few changes:
* Some keys have changed names (sorry about this, I promise it
will not happen too often). More precisely, keys like supper,
slower, supperleft, slowerleft, sd, and si have become sepupper,
seplower, sepupperleft, seplowerleft, sepd, and sepi, etc.
Similarly, cupper, clower, cupperleft, clowerleft, cd, and ci
have become commaupper, commalower, commaupperleft, commalowerleft,
commad, and commai. Similar changes apply to other keys using the
s- and c- prefixes for separator and comma.
These changes have been made to avoid awkward and confusing key
names like slower, supper, and cupper.
Better change this now than annoy people later.
* The key clone (previously an alias for copy) has been removed,
so stick to copy from now on.
* The definition of SemantexBullet has been changed to make it
compatible with changing math styles, based on code by egreg,
see https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/564506/19809.
It has also become slightly bigger.
Furthermore, the definition has been moved entirely to the
semtex package, which is now being loaded by SemanTeX.
* The keys boolifTF (and its variants) will now raise an error
if the boolean was not found; previously, it would run the false
code instead. I think the new behaviour is more natural.

# Acknowledgements
This release stands in the name of the two contributors **Alexander
Grahn** and **Yukai Chou** without whom this release would not have been
nearly as great. Thank you very much!
# BREAKING CHANGES
- In the last version, in an attempt to fix updating `local bounding box`
in a clipping scope the `pgf@path@size@hook` in
`pgf@protocolsizes` was set to be executed unconditionally.
Unfortunately, this broke all other uses of `local bounding box` and has
been
reverted. If you need to use `local bounding box` in a clipping scope,
use the `overlay` option.
- The recent Ghostscript version 9.53 has changed the primitives for
transparency, blend mode, and transparency groups. These are now
supported by PGF and should in principle go unnoticed by the user. (Thanks
Alexander Grahn!)
- `pgfintersectionoflines` will now always return the intersection in the
untransformed coordinate system. This however requires an
additional `pgftransforminvert` which comes with a loss of precision and
can potentially lead to `Dimension too large` errors in edge cases.
- PGF now supports the new hook management that will be introduced in
LaTeX 2020/10/01. While this should not lead to any noticeable
changes, please look out for breakages with overlays and the `current
page` nodes. Please report problems on the PGF or LaTeX issue
trackers.
# New features
You can read about these new features in the manual:
- PS-3 functional shading, opacity masks (fadings) and image masks for
dvips. (Thanks Alexander Grahn!)
- The `dvisvgm4ht` driver developed by Michal Hoftich has been merged into
PGF/TikZ.
- The `pgfparser` module has been slightly refactored such that it can be
used without loading all of PGF.
- The order in which the inner styles are applied in a `matrix` is now
configurable. #867
- The file `pgfmanual-en-macros.tex` is developed specifically for
typesetting the PGF manual, however, many other package developers have
found it useful and made good use of it. To this end, we now install
`pgfmanual-en-macros.tex` into a directory that is searched by kpathsea
such that developers no longer have to copy the file into their own
distribution.
- The CI system was switched from Travis CI to GitHub Actions for better
integration with GitHub and direct deployment of build artefacts to the
status page.

Uwe Ziegenhagen submitted an update to the
koma-script
package.
Version number: 3.32
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: A bundle of versatile classes and packages
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
KOMA-Script 3.32 is still compatible with LaTeX 2020-04-01 and should be
compatible with LaTeX 2020-10-01. Unfortunately there are some
incompatible changes in package scrlfile:
- scrlfile has been spitted into scrlfile-hook and
scrlfile-patcholdlatex. scrlfile-hook is new and uses the new file
hooks of LaTeX 2010-10-01. scrlfile-patcholdlatex is an adapted
version of old scrlfile. scrlfile is still available as wrapper, that
automatically selects either scrlfile-hook or scrlfile-patcholdlatex.
- AfterPackage+ and AfterPackage! have been replaced by new
AfterAtEndOfPackage* (see the manual for the new command).
- AfterClass+ and AfterClass! have been replaced by new
AfterAtEndOfClass* (see the manual for the new command).
- scrlfile has a new traditional package option`withdeprecated` that
reimplements AfterPackage+, AfterPackage!, AfterClass+ and
AfterClass! using AfterAtEndOfPackage* resp. AfterAtEndOfClass*.
See the manual for more information. Although the reimplementations
are not identical to the original functionality, they should be
suitable in most cases.

Sebastian Ørsted submitted an update to the
SemanTeX
package.
Version: 0.44 2020-09-27
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Semantic, keyval-based mathematics
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Quite a big update. Apart from a few internal optimizations, it
greatly improves the stripsemantex algorithm, so that all SemanTeX
markup, including the one containing SemantexDelimiterSize, can
now be completely stripped. Consequently, the key allowSemantexDelimiterSize
has been removed since it no longer serves any purpose.
The semtex package is therefore almost unnecessary, and I might decide
to remove it completely later.
(The algorithm itself has also been changed a bit, so that it requires
more iterations, but it's worth it because of the previous improvement.)
The recommendations regarding set constructions and Laurent series have
been updated.

At the initiative of Karl Berry, a new subdirectory unicodetex/
has been added to the /macros/ branch of the CTAN archive.
The new directory tree CTAN:/macros/unicodetex/ is meant for
macro packages that work with either of the “modern” TeX engines
XeTeX and LuaTeX, but not with “traditional” TeX engines like TeX
and pdfTeX.
Macro packages that require LuaTeX (and will work with _none_
of the other engines!) are stored in CTAN:/macros/luatex/ .
Macro packages that require XeTeX (and will work with _none_
of the other engines!) are stored in CTAN:/macros/xetex/ .
Macro packages that work with _any_ TeX engine, or only
with “traditional” TeX engines, are stored, as before, in
CTAN:/macros/ outside the directories mentioned above.
So far, the following packages have been relocated to
CTAN:/macros/unicodetex/latex/ :
fontsetup
fontspec
lilyglyphs
polyglossia
realscripts
unicode-math
xltxtra
Feedback would be welcome about more packages that should be
moved to another location, according to this classification.
Please contact ctan(a)ctan.org if you are the author, or a
knowledgeable user, of a package that you feel should go to
the CTAN:/macros/unicodetex/ branch, but is still located
somewhere else on the archive. Thanks!
