Robert Alessi submitted an update to the
ekdosis
package.
Version number: 1.2 2021-04-02
License type: gpl3+ fdl
Summary description: Typesetting TEI-xml compliant Critical Editions
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
ekdosis v1.2:---
This release of ekdosis comes with many new features of which the most important follow:
- improved support of babel/polyglossia: it is now possible to apply to any layer of the
apparatus criticus a language different from the one that is selected in the edition
text. This is notably important eg. for Arabic or Sanskrit where it is customary to use
a transliteration scheme in the apparatus criticus.
- new general hooks have been added, allowing for an initial separating rule, the styling
of lemma texts and/or variant readings, &c.
- poetry: ekdosis can now load and use the facilities provided by the verse package.
Verse lines can be numbered independently of prose text. Of course, continuous line
numbering remains possible. Indentation patterns are also supported. Furthermore, a
specific environment for the encoding of line groups has been added. A detailed example
from Raymond MacDonald Alden's edition of Shakespeare's Sonnets from the Quarto of 1609
with variorum readings is provided in the documentation, where an effort has been made to
keep the typography and the punctuation of the original edition.
- conditional page breaks: the line number and optionally the page number where a page
break should occur can be specified. If the conditions specified be not met, then the
page break is not triggered.
- much improved export to TEI xml.
For future work, please see sect. 13 on p. 70 of the documentation.

License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: A tutorial on the use of Patgen 2
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the revisited version of a document written in 1993, long
before Unicode, the PDF format, the Web, the $n$-th Doctors (for n≥9),
eTeX, smartphones, emojis, fake news, COVID, and whatever makes the
world we currently live in. As a tutorial, it was utterly _bad_:
it was unclear, missed important information and focalized on
(semi-private) jokes. I realized this fact in March 2021, when
I tried to use Patgen again after decades of oblivion.
Having re-discovered the use of Patgen, which is still as scarcely
documented as it was in 1993, I decided to rewrite this tutorial
hoping to succeed where I once failed. I ask in advance for your
indulgence. Do not hesitate to contact me if parts of it are

Andreas Scherer submitted an update to the
knuth-pdf
package.
Version: 1.1 2021-03-17
License: pd
Summary description: PDF library for C/WEB sources in TeX Live
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This updated version of the 'knuth-pdf' packages incorporates
suggestions by Udo Wermuth and by the CTAN team.
The legalese in the 'README' file should make it clear that
this package is maintained by Andreas Scherer and not by Donald
Knuth and that the Public domain license covers only the files
contained in 'knuith-pdf', but does not cover the actual source
codes that are released under various (and varying) licenses as
stated in the sources.
Udo Wermuth suggested amendmends to the 'index' file(s) to distinguish
between the authorship of Donald Knuth and other authors.
(And he requested minor improvements in the display of 'index.html'.)
Moreover, Udo Wermuth provided a wrapper script for the 'errorlog' to
uncover the list of acronyms at the very end of the 'errorlog.tex' file.
Thanks, Udo!

Summary description: Match Biblical passages with verse references in a quiz
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The eq-fetchbbl package is an application to the exerquiz (eq) and
fetchbibpes (fetchbbl) packages. This package defines several commands
and two environments that are used to conveniently build quizzes that
challenge the user to match Bible passages with their corresponding verse
references. Technically speaking, such quizzes may be built without this
package using the techniques illustrated in
http://www.acrotex.net/blog/?p=1446 (Exerquiz: Match-type questions)
and in
http://www.acrotex.net/blog/?p=1449 (Exerquiz: Randomized matching-type questions).
However, when working with Biblical topics, it is easier to incorporate
the fetching capabilities of fetchbibpes.
