Timo Baumann submitted an update to the
BibArts
package.
Version number: 2.3
License type: gpl
Summary description: “Arts”-style bibliographical information
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Changes from BibArts version 2.2 (2019) to version 2.3 (now, 2021):
bibsort 2.3, the sorting program of the package, has two new options:
-utf8 sorts UTF8 characters as definded in utf8enc.dfu 2021/01/27 v1.2l,
except cyr...- and CYR...-commands, which bibsort still ignores.
bibsort 2.3 is able to sort the accent extcommabelow (parallel to
U+0218 to U+021B). The internal representation of accents did
change (two instead of one ASCII 1 to 31). For numerous smaller
changes see /* 2.3 comments */ in bibsort.c.
Like in earlier versions, you can introduce e.g. a book in your text
xvli{John}{Smith} *{vauthor{Peter}{Young}} {... [Title] ...}
with Peter Young as co-author. (For further co-authors, use
midvauthor{FirstName}{LastName}
in front of vauthor.) Please always TYPE the FirstName first.
If you start bibsort without -e, printvli will still print lists as:
Smith, John / Peter Young: ... [Title] ...
-e exchanges the PRINT ORDER of the args of vauthor (and midvauthor).
In your text, printvli then will PRINT the List of Literature as:
Smith, John / Young, Peter: ... [Title] ...
The SORT ORDER in *both* cases is (that did/does *not* change):
Smith John Young Peter

Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
mf2pt1
package.
Version number: 2.7
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Convert stylized Metafont to PostScript Type 1
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
mf2pt1 facilitates producing PostScript Type 1 fonts from a Metafont
source file. mf2pt1's advantage over tools such as TeXtrace and mftrace
is that it does not rely on bitmap tracing and therefore can produce
higher-quality Type 1 fonts than trace-based tools. The catch is that
mf2pt1 imposes a number of restrictions on the Metafont input so it is
not, as the name may imply, an automatic converter of arbitrary Metafont
fonts to Type 1 format.
Version 2.7 of mf2pt1 supports new --output-dir and --save-temps options
for controlling where intermediate and output files are written and if
intermediate files should be retained after execution completes. It also
allows helper programs (mpost, t1asm, and fontforge) to be overridden,
including with arguments, via environment variables.
Thanks to Werner Lemberg for his suggestions for and contributions to this
new release.

* glossaries-extra.sty:
- new command glslinkwrcontent used to encapsulate link text and
indexing within commands like gls and glslink. This adds
grouping, which will hopefully fix issue #189
https://www.dickimaw-books.com/bugtracker.php?key=189
(spacing issues caused by whatsit)
This is currently added as a trial. If no issues are reported
it will be added to the base package as well.
If the grouping causes a problem, redefine this command without
it:
enewcommand*{glslinkwrcontent}[1]{#1}
- New multi (combined/compound) entry feature:
multiglossaryentry and associated commands
See chapter Multi (or Compound) Entries for details.
- New commands:
glssetcategoriesattribute
glssetcategoriesattributes
- bug fix #190: hypergroup, glsnavhyperlinkname and targetnameprefix
don't work together
https://www.dickimaw-books.com/bugtracker.php?key=190
- new abbreviation styles:
long-only-short-sc-only
long-only-short-sc-only-desc
long-postshort-sc-user
long-postshort-sc-user-desc
- new debugging package option `showtargets`
* glossaries-extra-bib2gls.sty:
- added multi-entry commands for use with bib2gls.

License: gpl3+ fdl
Summary description: Typesetting TEI-xml compliant Critical Editions
Announcement text:

# ekdosis now has its own website! Check out http://www.ekdosis.org
- ekdosis.org will make available to the editors documents that will
allow them to train progressively, such as a Quickstart Guide and
a full set of documents tailored to most of the possible layouts,
arranged with regard to their level of intricacy.
# This release of ekdosis comes with the following new features:—
- Apparatus criticus:
1. Optional subseparators in the apparatus criticus.
2. Option keepinapp to have critical symbols used in the edition
text such as <>{}[] and the like printed in the apparatus.
3. Option familysep to allow for alternate separators between
families of manuscripts in the apparatus.
- Poetry
1. New command \+ for inserting line breaks between verse lines
without indenting the subsequent line.
2. Option vnumbrokenlines to have both parts of broken lines numbered.
3. New command vmodulolinenumbers[n] to enable or modify verse
modulo line numbering.
- ekdosis 1.4 now uses its own internal page numbering scheme
instead of absolute page numbers. This way, the edition text and
its associated apparatus remain stable even if the number of pages
that precede it varies. v1.5 of ekdosis to come will take further
advantage of this new feature.

Jean-François Burnol submitted an update to the
texdimens
package.
Version number: 1.0 2021-11-10
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Conversion of TeX dimensions to decimals
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
v1.0 (2021/11/10)
- new: exdimenbothbpmm (and relatives). It produces the
largest dimension not exceeding (in absolute value) the input
and expressible exactly both in the bp and in the mm units.
- enhanced: all exdimenUUup and exdimenUUdown macros now
accept all inputs, up to and inclusive of maxdimen. Formerly
the macros associated to dd, nc, and in needed the input
to stay a few sp's away from maxdimen. The new macros use
a new algorithm and got a bit faster.
- breaking: the exdimenwithunit output for a second argument
smaller than 1pt has changed. Both old and new outputs verify
the specification from the documentation, but the new one has
the advantage of remaining closer to the exact mathematical
ratio of the two arguments.
- enhanced: exdimenwithunit's second argument is now allowed
to be negative.
Thanks to Ruixi Zhang for multiple remarks, analyses and feature
requests.
