Martin Gieseking submitted an update to the
dvisvgm
package.
Version: 3.0.1 2023-01-10
License: gpl3+
Summary description: Convert DVI, EPS, and PDF files to Scalable Vector Graphics format (SVG)
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
dvisvgm 3 is a new major version of the utility. As Ghostscript
is going to remove support for the PostScript-based PDF interpreter
in favor of a newly implemented C-based one, dvisvgm's previous PDF
functionality will stop working. Unfortunately, there's currently
no way to retain it with the Ghostscript API. Therefore, I added
a new PDF handler based on mutool (https://www.mupdf.com/docs/mutool.html)
which hopefully keeps most of dvisvgm's PDF features available.
Ghostscript is still required to process PostScript specials and
to convert EPS files.
Furthermore, the previously bundled FontForge library has been
replaced with a dedicated font writer library that is used to
create TrueType and WOFF files. While this is a bigger technical
change, it shouldn't affect the previous functionality and the
quality of the conversion results.
The new option --embed-bitmaps now allows for embedding of external
images referenced in DVI files into the generated SVG files.
By default, only links to the images are added.
Finally, the optional filters :even and :odd have been added to
option --page which can be used to limit the given page ranges
to even and odd page numbers respectively.
Further information on the latest changes and additions can be
found at https://dvisvgm.de.

diffcoeff
package.
Version number: 5.0
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Write differential coefficients easily and consistently
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 5.0 of diffcoeff splits the main command, diff, into three
(upright-fraction, slash-fraction and compact form derivatives). This enables
the package to more fully embrace the configurability offered by xtemplate but
introduces incompatibilities with earlier versions. For older documents or
those comfortable with the previous version, that is still available by using
the trailing optional argument of the usepackage command:
usepackage{diffcoeff}[=v4]. Version 5.0 extends xtemplate configurability to
jacobians and differentials (allowing the easy writing of simple line elements)
and other notations (Braket).

this license with LaTeX isn’t very convenient. This package
aims to help users in easily using the license without
violating any rules of the license. With a handful of
commands, users can rest assured that their document
will be perfectly licensed under GFDL.

Towards the end of 2022 the author of the three elegant* classes
told us: “I created these templates in 2013 mainly for Chinese
font settings along with some other settings.” As of now, the
“ctex package is good enough for Chinese settings”, and the
ctexart and ctexbook classes should be used as starting points
for Chinese documents.
He feels that he no longer has the time to maintain these packages
well, so prefers to retract them before they get outdated and buggy.
We have therefore agreed to move these packages to CTAN's /obsolete
branch (see new URLs below).
This means that although the packages will shortly be dropped by
TeX Live and MiKTeX, they can still be obtained from the URLs below.

In case a Python error occurs inside a python environment, the

Since Python stack traces often contain special characters like _,

### Added

- `postnotesection` option `exp`, to expand the contents in place.
### Changed
- To simplify user input, `postnote` option `mark` now requires a number as
value, but it also sets `sortnum`.
- `postnotesectionx` is deprecated in favor of the new `exp` option.
- Bumped the required kernel to 2022-06-01, so that we can use the new
`MakeLinkTarget` and the starred version of `
ef*` defined by the kernel,
which simplifies the relation with `hyperref`. All in all, `postnotes` no

luamodulartables
package.
Version number: 1.0
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Generate modular addition and multiplication tables
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The luamodulartables package is developed to generate modular addition and
multiplication tables for positive integers. It provides an easy way to
generate modular addition and modular multiplication tables for positive
integers in LaTeX documents. The commands in the package have optional
arguments for the formatting of tables. These commands can be used in an
environment similar to a tabular or array environment. The commands can also be
used with the booktabs package, which provides nice formatting of tables in
LaTeX. It is written in Lua, and TeX file is to be compiled with LuaLaTeX
engine.

Hi, everyone!
This is a new package using TikZ for optics.
This package allows the automatic drawing of the image of objects
in spherical mirrors and lenses from the data of the focus, from

Ulrike Fischer submitted an update to the
tagpdf
package.
Version number: 0.98 2022-12-22
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Tools for experimenting with tagging using pdfLaTeX and LuaLaTeX
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 0.98 [2022-12-22]
### Added
- started with dedicated latex name spaces
- namespaces definitions have been externalized and are now read from files.
- rules to check if a tag is allowed as child in the current structure. If not allow
a warning is issued, more messages can be activated with log=v.
- The data for namespaces and rules are in a new module, tagpdf-data.dtx.
### Changed
- adding a new tag with add-new-tag now requires that the target role is
defined. Unknown roles error.
- RoleMap object is no longer written in PDF 2.0 as it uses namespaces
- in pdf < 2.0 rolemaps are resolved to the PDF standard.
- Structure destinations are used in PDF < 2.0 too -- they don't harm and
can improve html export.
- agmcbegin no longer requires to use the tag key: the value from the surrounding
structure will be used.

Karl Berry submitted an update to the
cm-tfm
package.
Version:
License: knuth
Summary description: Metric files for the Computer Modern fonts
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This update replaces the contents of https://ctan.org/tex-archive/cm/tfm/
with the 75 TFM files generated from the official Computer Modern Metafont
sources. These TFM files have been distributed since the beginning of
TeX Live, and in its predecessors, without changes. (Don Knuth does not
officially distribute the TFM files.)
Somehow, almost all of the cm*.tfm files on CTAN had an extra null byte
at the end, dating from their initial creation in 1992, in the early
days of CTAN. We (CTAN+me) do not know how that null byte got in there.
The result is that tftopl issues a warning on them (There's some extra
junk...).
Also, this cm/tfm/ directory previously contained some non-CM TFM files,
namely dummy.tfm, manfnt.tfm, old_manfnt.tfm, and cmsa10.tfm. The first
two are available elsewhere on CTAN, in their respective packages. The
latter two we do not know the provenance of, but you can get them from
the /obsolete CTAN tree if need be.
