It contains a document class for producing books for the publisher Teubner Verlag, Wiesbaden, Germany. Form the README: I have programmed the bgteubner.cls document class by order of the Teubner Verlag, Wiesbaden, Germany. This has been done to ensure that books of this publisher have a unique layout. The publisher has allowed me to distribute the document class with auxilliary files and documentation freely. Unfortunately, most of the documentation is only available in German. Since the document class is intended to generate a unique layout, many things (layout etc.) are fixed and cannot be altered by the used. If you want to use the document class for another purpose than publishing with the Teubner Verlag, this may arrise unwanted restrictions (For instance, the document class provides only two paper sizes: DIN A-5 and 17cm x 24cm; only two font families are supported: Times and European Computer Modern). The document class needs some additional packages, partly relatively new ones, partly packages that are not installed on most TeX installations. License stays LPPL. >From the README: Print numbers with a separator every three digits and convert numbers given as 12345.6e789 to 12,345,6cdot 10^{789}. Numbers are printed in the current mode (text or math) in order to use the correct font. Many things, including the decimal sign, the thousand separator, as well as the product sign can be changed by the user, e.g., to reach 12,345.6 imes 10^{789}. If requested, numprint can round numbers to a given number of digits. If an optional argument is given it is printed upright as unit. Numbers can be rounded to a given number of digits. The package supports an automatic, language-dependent change of the number format. Tabular alignment using the tabular(*), array, tabularx, and longtable environments (similar to the dcolumn and rccol packages) is supported using all features of numprint. Additional text can be added before and after the formatted number. If you prefer to use the old version 0.32 you may use numprint032.sty which will stay fixed. The main new features are automatic language support and a really usable tabular alignment. Change log: - 1.10 2003/10/12 New tabular aligment mechanism (now comparable to dcolumn and rccol) with full support of all numprint formats. Math version npbold which aligns with normal math alphabet. Don't use substr package. Provide pmakebox command that works as makebox but takes a text instead of a length for calculating its width. - 1.00 2003/10/07 Automatically add a plus to numbers without sign. Define shortcut p for umprint on demand. Automatic support for different number formats in different languages (already supported are English and German). Better argument parsing. Automatically don't separate degree sign from number. Customize input characters (decimal sign, exponent character). Define a list of ignored characters. User defined signs exceeding +,-, and pm. Load configuration file if present. Improved calculation of box width for mantissa and exponent. recently, in response to a post on comp.text.tex, Ian Hutchinson posted a short piece of code to do this job. the abstract i've written for the catalogue says Provides a Plain TeX macro figflow that allows one to insert a figure into an area inset into a paragraph. Command arguments are width and height of the figure, and the figure (and its caption) itself. (Does not work with LaTeX.) i asked (and was given) permission to put the file on ctan, and have installed it on ctan in directory macros/plain/contrib/figflow Robin Fairbairns For the CTAN team

GRAPHICAL CAPABILITIES BaKoMa TeX includes an interpreter for *PostScript Level 2*, which is tested for compatibility with output from popular software such as: MetaPost, Adobe Illustrator 10, Adobe Streamline 4.0, Mathematica 4, MatLab, CorelDraw 10, CorelXARA, HIGZ, PageDraw, FrameMaker, ImageMagick, etc. All DVI back-ends support the same special interface compatible with well known Rokicki's DVIPS, including processing PostScript embedded into DVI files (PSTricks, PSfrag, XyPic, etc.). The system includes Graphics Import Filters for the following formats: PostScript, HPGL, DXY, JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, PCX, MSP, BMP. FONTS BaKoMa TeX supports the following font formats: * OpenType (both TTF and OTF are supported), * PostScript Type 1 (including Multiple Masters), * PostScript Type 3, * TrueType, * TeX PK/VF. The system includes about *1500* typefaces in PostScript Type 1 and Type 3 font format including the following fonts: * CM (including LaTeX and Logo fonts + vf for T1 with CX * AMS Fonts (Euler, Math Symbols), * EC/TC, * LH (T2A), * Concrete (Math, ECC), * Malvern, * CMCyr + vf for T2A/LCY * Scripting fonts, CMPica, Punk. Math Fonts: * Stmaryrd, Wasy, Rsfs, YHMath, BlackBoard (bbm, doublestroke). Diagram drawing fonts: * Lams, Astro Symbols (cmastro, astrosym, moonphase), * Barcodes (barcodes, wlean, wlc*), Logical (loggates, milstd), * timing, MusiXTeX, Chess/CChess, Go, Backgammon, Dingbats/NiceFrame. etc. Any font type can be used for any output device/format. This feature is supported by automatic font conversion between font formats when needed. This feature enables the rendering of Type 1 fonts *without ATM*. On the other hand, it enables the use of TrueType/OpenType fonts for generating PostScript printed even on PostScript Level 1 printers. In advance, BaKoMa TeX is ready to use most of free Type 1 fonts available on CTAN and Trutype fonts coming with MS Windows systems. Font Setup Wizard lets you to install most of commercial (and free) OpenType, TrueType, and Postscript Type 1 fonts in almost one click. OpenType/Type1 fonts (OTF) are supported also under Windows 9x and NT 4.0 even without ATM. USER INTERFACE * Dynamical Preview (Instant Preview) of selected part of a document. It reformats (and preview) selected part of document on the fly, when you edit it. OUTPUT DEVICES/FORMATS * View on Windows Display. * Print on any printer supported by a MS Windows driver. * PostScript (really scalable), * PDF, * SVG (animation effects are supported), * HTML. Important feature of BaKoMa TeX is consistent graphics and font support for all types of output. This means that all font formats mentioned may be used for every type of output. This also means that all graphical capabilities mentioned are supported for every type of output. PDF GENERATION FEATURES * Handling in-line PostScript in DVI files (PSTricks). * Creating PDF files which share fonts. Suitable for preparing CD-ROM based document libraries. * Embedding fonts in CFF requires 2--3 times less space then other font forms. * Embedding ToUnicode CMAPs to support search and copy-paste of cyrillic and other international characters. * Handling HyperTeX (HyperRef) and document outline. HTML GENERATION FEATURES BaKoMa TeX 5 supports several ways for conversion of (La)TeX documents into HTML files. * `TeX|Generate HTML ...' text editor menu command lets you launch `TeX4HT' convertor with numerous options. * `File|Generate HTML ...' DVI viewer menu command lets you convert pages of a DVI file into PNG files wrapped into navigation HTML pages. This approach is useful for documents with complex graphics, such as slides. In advance, BaKoMa TeX is ready to use `HEVEA' and/or `TTH' convertors. Launching of these convertors is available via extra TABS of `TeX|Generate HTML ...' editor command. Including graphics is well integreated with BaKoMa TeX graphical engine. In this reason, you can insert everithing supported by BaKoMa TeX into generated HTML pages. SVG GENERATION FEATURES BaKoMa TeX 5.50 introduces generation of SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics) from a DVI files. Ability to add animation to the SVG output, makes it the best for producing high quality presentations. Gradient fills are often used for Presentations, for example by nice styles of Prosper package. Most noticeable effect of optimization is in generated SVG: * generated files are much smaller, * they are displayed much faster (by any SVG Viewer), * gradients looks much better (in many SVG Viewers), * animations running over optimized gradients work much faster. Optimization of PDF files is less noticeable, however size of PDF files with gradient fills will be smaller. Optimization was done in two points: 1. implementation of `shfill' (Postscript Level 3) operator, which is efficiently converted into PDF and SVG; 2. extending of PST-GRAD.PRO (see BaKoMa/DVIPS directory) to use `shfill' operator when it is available.
