a number of tiresome symptoms have surfaced on this machine in the last month or two. as a first (i.e., simple-minded) approach, i have rebooted the machine; this took less than 5 minutes, but active sessions will have been lost. given the nature of the most recently reported problem, i felt it best to perform the restart without a day's warning (which is what i would normally do). Mathdesign covers the whole LaTeX glyph set, including AMS symbols and some extra. Both roman and bold versions of these symbols can be used. Moreover you can choose between thre greek fonts (two of them created by the Greek Font Society). At least for the writer of LaTeX code, the package offers a convenient and user-friendly means of using pdfannot to provide comments in PDF files. There also is (c) `catchdq.sty', an application of (b), for automatic insertion of typographical double quotes when the user only enters ASCII double quotes. What is typographical differs between languages, the new `langcode' package completes `catchdq''s functionality in this respect. See README for documentation and similar (more comprehensive) packages. Some macros and code are moving here from the `morehype' and `nicetext' bundles, attempting to improve all of them. License type: lppl Announcement text: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform) is a mechanism proposed by Adobe for embedding document metadata within the document itself. The metadata are designed to be easy to extract, even by programs that are oblivious to the document's file format. Most of Adobe's applications store XMP metadata when saving files. Now, with the hyperxmp package, it is trivial for LaTeX document authors to store XMP metadata in their documents as well. hyperxmp integrates seamlessly with hyperref and requires virtually no modifications to documents that already exploit hyperref's mechanisms for specifying PDF metadata. Version 2.0 of hyperxmp represents a substantial effort by Heiko Oberdiek to make the package Unicode-compatible.
