Summary description: Draw electrical networks with TikZ
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There are no big changes here, but the change to the resistor code
(maybe one of the most used by the package) well deserves a minor
version bump.
There are a couple of new components and several minor fixes.
- New component: new kind of current tap
- New arrow tip `Jack Tap` to help draw jack connectors
- Change the drawing of the thermocouple
- Change and enhancement to the drawing of the American resistors,
fixing a long-standing small asymmetry that nobody noticed
- Minor adjustment for joins in `viscoe` component
- Minor additions (`rectjoinfill`) and fixes in documentation

Oliver Beery submitted an update to the
fontscale
package.
Version number: 2.0.0 2024-08-02
License type: lppl1.3c
Summary description: A flexible interface for setting font sizes
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
## [v2.0.0] - 2024-08-02
### Changed
- This update includes many changes that are backwards incompatible.
- The documentation has been completely rewritten.
- Package description changed from A user interface for setting document font sizes to
A flexible interface for setting font sizes.
- The code no longer uses `@setfontsize`.
- The font size commands provided by this package now do nothing, except issue a warning,
if used in math mode.
- The base font size of the musical typographic scale is now set by the new key
`musical/base`.
- `PrintFontParameters` renamed to `PrintFontSizeParameters`.
- `PrintAllFontParameters` renamed to `PrintAllFontSizeParameters`.
- `PrintSampleText` uses a `+m`- instead of an `O`-type argument.
- `PrintFontSizeCommand` prints `undefined` instead of `UNDEFINED`.
- `fontscalesetup` is now removed in ` ext_purify:n`.
### Removed
- Keys `typographic-scale=modular` and `modular`.
- Key `ignore-order` (no support for using ` iny` to `Huge` in the wrong order).
- Key `reset` (very rarely used).
- Public `prop` variables for each font size command from ` iny` to `Huge`. (They are
redundant with the other public variables and programmers will very likely prefer using
their own `prop` variables.)
### Added
- `fontscalesetup` now has an optional starred argument which first resets the keys to
their initial values.
- Key `musical/base` (explained earlier).
- The package commands now issue a user-friendly error message if the font size is a zero
or negative length.
- The package commands now issue an error if the font baselineskip is less than the font
size.
- The package commands that would produce a low-level error if used in math mode now
issue a user-friendly error message instead.
### Fixed
- Now correctly checks that the package requires `LaTeX2e` version 2023-11-01 or newer.
- The keys `<font size command>` no longer incorrectly treat a `/` within a brace group
as the delimiter. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Jean-François Burnol submitted an update to the
mathastext
package.
Version number: 1.4a 2024-07-20
License type: lppl1.3
Summary description: Use the text font in maths mode
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
With this release, your documents will compile faster: mathastext
does not use at all anymore the everymath/everydisplay registers
(except for a LuaLaTeX font matter) for the more advanced
functionalities it provides.
- option everymath will partially revert this core change; it is
provided as a quick fix in case of problems arising in a
document. Under this option though, some bugfixes coming with
this release are not applied. This option will be removed
at next major release. Please report problems encountered
without it before it gets removed.
- the internal infrastructure to use math active characters is
made easier to tap into for the case of the ascii letters,
allowing special tasks such as adding color or frames or
use another font or whatever.
- option activedigits will let digits also be customizable
as in previous item.
- the babel-spanish dot action in math mode is not lost anymore.
- a LuaLaTeX-only hack dating back to 2016 has been updated to
handle fonts declared using Renderer=HarfBuzz.
- mathastext now requires LaTeX 2020-02-02 and has trimmed
legacy branches supporting earlier releases; support for
the EU1 and EU2 font encodings has been removed.
See the Change Log in the PDF for additional changes and details.
Some parts of the documentation have been extensively rewritten
or at least reordered, which always improves things.

2.2 (2024/07/15)
Bug fixes
* Fix lang environment (#633).
* Fix first number of Maghrib abjad numbering for Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia (#640).
* Fix some captions strings in Bulgarian, Chinese, Esperanto, Estonian, Hindi, Latvian, and Slovak (#651)
* Improve performance with multilingual documents that have a TOC (#641).
New Features
* Add possibility to associate a font to a language/variant with reference to a BCP-47 script tag (#636).
Internal work
* The major rewrite of the package code has been finished. More code has been
cleaned up, and polyglossia employs modern concepts (latex3 and modern LaTeX2e).
* All key-val handling uses l3keys now rather than xkeyval.
Please note that, due to the extensive code rewrite, and despite out thorough
testing, this release might bring some glitches. If you stumble upon one,
please let us know! Thanks.

moremath
package.
Version: 0.4.0 2024-07-15
License: lppl1.3
Summary description: Additional commands for typesetting maths
Announcement text:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The moremath package provides several document level commands to
ease typesetting and readability of LaTeX math code for certain
mathematical constructs.
It provides commands to typeset math operators with delimiters,
which can be scaled manually, automatically or not at all. The
package also provides commands for producing gradient,
divergence, curl, Laplace and d'Alembert operators.
Furthermore several commands to ease the typesetting of
(anti-)diagonal matrices, row and column vectors, and identity
matrices are provided by this package.
This package is currently in its initial development phase and I
can therefore not guarantee backwards compatible changes until
version 1.0.0 has been reached (though I will certainly try).

### Added
- Library `documentation`:
- Option `page ref formatter` (issue #273)
- First experimental partial tagging support: suppress tagging of drawing (issue #283)
This works for lualatex only.
### Changed
- The base package loads `tikz` now instead of `pgf`.
All skins, including the `standard` family, use `tikzpicture` as internal environment now.
- Boolean marker to detect if inside a `tcb@savebox` introduced (issue #262)
- LaTeX usrguide cited for `NewDocumentCommand` and friends (issue #263)
- Stricter checks on box names in `
ewtcbox` and friends (issue #264)
- Checks on formatter like `index key formatter` enforced (issue #265)
- Needed LaTeX version updated to 2023-11-01
- More meaningful error message in case of `DeclareTColorBox` with same auto counter (issue #276)
- Library `theorems`:
- Options `ams align`, `ams align*`, `ams gather`, and `ams gather*` are now shortcuts
for the upper part only (issue #282)
- Documentation for `ams align`, `ams align*`, `ams gather`, and `ams gather*` adapted, i.e.
exclusion of lower parts documented (issue #282)
- Technical information: The package documentation is now produced with lualatex instead of pdflatex
### Deprecated
- The option `graphical environment` is useless now, since all environments are based on `tikzpicture` now.
### Removed
- Documentation for the deprecated options `before example` and `after example`
- Documentation for the deprecated option `graphical environment`
### Fixed
- `@nobreakfalse` added to ` cb@parbox@false@settings` to avoid
decreased space before list with `parbox=false` following a section heading (issue #270)
- Documentation typos fixed (issue #279)

Scott Pakin submitted an update to the
mf2pt1
package.
Version: 2.8
License: lppl1.3c
Summary description: Convert stylized Metafont to PostScript Type 1
Announcement text:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
mf2pt1 facilitates producing PostScript Type 1 fonts from a Metafont source
file. mf2pt1's advantage over tools such as TeXtrace and mftrace is that it
does not rely on bitmap tracing and therefore can produce higher-quality Type 1
fonts than trace-based tools. The catch is that mf2pt1 imposes a number of
restrictions on the Metafont input so it is not, as the name may imply, an
automatic converter of arbitrary Metafont fonts to Type 1 format.
Version 2.8 of mf2pt1 adds extreme later in the postprocessing script. This
change is due to a merge request submitted by Werner Lemberg to the LilyPond
project (https://gitlab.com/lilypond/lilypond/-/merge_requests/2374).
